- Why Are India's Popular Moisturiser Brands Battling it out in Court | Vantage with Palki Sharma
A legal battle has unfolded between Nivea and Ponds over oil content, hydration, market practices, and the use of a specific colour. In 2021, Beiersdorf AG, the producer of Nivea creams, filed a case against Hindustan Unilever Limited at the Delhi High Court, accusing Ponds salespersons of unfair market practices in various shopping centres around the city. But does any one particular brand have the monopoly over a colour? Did Ponds engage in unfair market practices? What did the court say? Palki Sharma tells you.

Guys, use Boroline. BTW its Green 😂
😂😂😂
I use it. 😅❤
Its olive green😂😂
My popular moisturizing brand are Coconut oil, Mustard oil, Ghee 😎
They are neither in competition nor in comparison, all three of them qualify for their different ingredients, requirements, uses and the atmospheric place you are in. There are more original moisturizer brands in different states not known to me but they do exist 😎🙏🏻
Mustard oil. The no 1 reason why some Indians so black
Hahahahah yes 😂
I never used Nivea... but once I used ponds only one time.... coconut oil is my all time favourite...😁so I don't care about them 😁
Light blue the same as dark blue??
Yikes! Not one of them are truly effective anyways.
Who really cares, eh? The ponds has niacinamide and is a massive dealmaker. I have some in the US, and it helped heal a cooking hand burn.
No Vaseline?
@@xy1xy only for you 😗
I Use Coconut Oil as Moisturizer
Wtf! Owning colours? Wtf.
Nivea: German brand
Unilever's Pond & Lakme: UK brand
Loreal: French brand
Sugar: Indian brand
Nykaa: Indian brand
Emami: Indian brand
Rest is your choice
.
Edit: Unilever bought Lakme in 1998
Lakme was bought by Unilever long ago
@@richajha7033 Unilever is UK?
Ya Unilever is uk company
Better go with Dr. Sheth, Earth Rhythm because they're toxin free and more effective.
I THOUGHT LAKME WAS OF TATA
rather than fighting on colors they should focus on improving their product.
Following 💯%
The issue is clear. In a good vs bad (us vs them) campaign, Ponds purposefully used a blue container identical to Nivea minus the name. It is a marketing version od dog whistle, and no different from juvenile acts of using a curse word with *!# thrown in.
I use Parachute /Joy moisturizer 😅
Buy Indian
Love Nivea always !
Use Boro plus
I used aloe vera ! Fresh !
Nivea is much better for me
Sarso tel😂😂
Me who uses both 😁
Love Nivea products but i get them from Europe and use it back in India 😎
Ban both. Just use aloe vera natural
Vaseline ?
For Indians, it should be Himalaya.
Himalaya is not an Indian brand, it's a uniliver product.
@@supriyapandey5894 Can you name some real Indian brands that make Moisturisers?
@@nahilmannan2030 sugar i believe
काही कळलंच नाही.. निकाल काय? पलकी, तुझ्याकडून अपेक्षा आहेत
Use boroline
Indian press should be barred from articles about patent violations unless it is against the Indian government.
US drug companies spend many billions of $$$ developing new drugs and determining them safe for humans. They protect these development costs with patents.
India ignores these patents and says, 'wow, thanks for spending all that money to develop these fabulous drugs and determine they are safe, but since you are required to post ingredients, we can just copy them! It is too expensive to buy your product and we can just make them for pennies on the dollar, people are sick and might die if they can't afford your fabulous new drug! Therefore us stealing it is legit!'
India then actually has a law that Indian companies, whose whole argument is they need to help sick people for cheap, can then file their own India internal patents to drive up these costs to the patients 🤣🤣😂😂 It is just blatant theft.
Who likes the smell of Johnson’s baby powder ❤😅
Ponds, who use that fake brand ? Try Cerave or Anua or top Korea skin care brands
Most people get skin cancer after using these creams for 5 years. There was a guy in our who was brown but used alot of fair and handsome cream but now on his right side of the face the cancer started developing when he was in the intermediate college 12th but because he is upper middle class he went to doctor before it was too late and got away with it
What does being upper middle class have to do with this? Just say he is rich.
2024 and still divided by caste. & Class
@@nagarjuna0289 are you implying that upper middle class have only people from higher caste ?
