Fantastic vid Ned, amazing history lesson. I've heard that if you drink lots of vodka and schnapps it replaces your electrolyte count quickly in hot weather. Also, could you plant a bucket of the poop sand and see what grows? Might be a bean stalk or something cool.

Ned, have you ever tried germinating the seeds from really old privies? That might be a cool project. 2000-year-old seeds have been germinated.

Amazing video Ned!!! The honey amber flask is gorgeous. I also liked the Peruvian Bitters. I hope you were able to piece together the mug with the bucks on it, the piece that you showed of it was sweet. It was sad to see the prolapse uterine device knowing that women were using them to continue having sex, because that was their means of making money. What about unwanted pregnancies? Was there someone there to take care of that? After going through all of the items in the privy could you tell if children lived there? Or was it just a brothel for when trains came through? History, your

I feel sadness for women who had few options for survival - escaping poverty, incest, a brutal marriage - other than selling their bodies. Violence, pregnancies, botched abortions, venereal diseases, alcoholism, early death. This was the real story of Calamity Jane was well.

The only disease that one gets is a bad case of the antique bottle sickness.I've personally had it since 1965 and been through the twelve step program several times but can't shake it.

I have a old stone home and barn that has been bulldozed when it was demoed. I've located the stone lined well, but I can't locate the privy. I've probed and probed. It dates to 1800. There were actually slave quarter's there. I know some of the history of it. The barn was burned. The quarters were bulldozed and the lane was bulldozed making it wider and crushed stone was put over the lane. I've detected it found old flat buttons. Any hints on locating the privy. I know probe more. Lol. It should be a good one. It was owne by 2 sisters and they had money. That was in the late 1800's.

@@danieleckart3103 This was a 200 acre farm. Not on the property line. The whole area has been bulldozed in the 50's. The well is close to the back of the house foundation. Would the privy be close to the well?
