The organ defense chant is epic and was Reserved and ONLY used for crunch time minutes in the 4th in the 90s; Knicks played drum defensive chant for the first 3 Q
The drum is gone, right? I haven’t heard it in decades. They need it back. And it was better to have that the first three quarters and the organ only in the 4th. I noticed that as a kid and thought it was amazing. When you heard the organ it projected strength and also a little desperation, as you knew that Jordan and Miller could end up taking over down the stretch. It was a special kind of emotional, nervous energy tied to that sound.
As a Bulls fan, I absolutely LOVED when we played in the Garden and the crowd was foaming at the mouth going nuts on the Defense chant!! I hated the Knicks but that shit would send chills down my spine! Shit was epic
@@therealfredlee And the organ to me sounded better then. I know it’s a genuine theater organ that they’ve upgraded to in recent years, but the keyboard organ used in the Ewing/Jordan era had a higher and more desperate tone. Really emotional. I loved it and want it back. I want the entire 90s back.❤
He is a very good organization player he always dazzle the fans in Madison square garden with the new organ he have. I love the Organ so keep up the good work my friend. Go Knicks and rangers.❤
I also liked how in the 90s the d dense chat was only played at the end of the game to bring the intensity to next level and like I said the organ sound itself was better back then. Also I liked how the previous person would play some of the popular songs and then tie them right into the d defense chant. I think that person was more creative and interesting as a musician.
I agree the 90s organ sound was the best and will haunt me forever. Could we just use that keyboard ROM again?😄 But it also was still Ray playing back then. He’s been there since the Riley era.
I think it was a different person in the 90s and the way the organ sounded back then in the garden was much better. The organ was more fluid and had a better tone. Compare the defense chat from 90a to now. It was much better. I wish he would play more similar to back then.
I love your comments on this. It connects with my emotional nostalgia for the way it sounded when I was a teen. It definitely was better, and you’re right, more fluid. Higher tone too which played into the desperation and really pierced your soul. Watching any Knick game in the Jordan era at the Garden treats you to that incredible sound.
OFCOURSE IT DOESNT FEEL LIKE 30 something YEARS. HE GETS TO WATCH THE RANGERS AND KNICKS EVERY HOME GAME AND GET PAID TO BASICALLY DH. THATS SICCKKKKKKK AF
It’s weird this video came my way because my team was just playing the Knicks last week and that organ was really annoying me at one point. Now I have a face to go w the noise😂. Knicks are looking good!
This man is a Knicks legend

@@jaymum23The desperation with the rising tone makes it such a good sound to use in the final few minutes in the fourth

My local arena got rid of live organ a couple years ago. Nice to see him keeping the tradition alive.
