Disney Villain Non-Lethal Fates: Got off Easy to Worse Than Death
Disney. From its inception nearly 100 years ago, the company has produced countless characters. From classic movies such as Pinocchio to more modern films like Big Hero Six, we have seen plenty of villains get their comeuppance… But that doesn’t always mean that they take the big dirt nap. From characters seeing the error of their ways… to being trapped or arrested… to probably actually wishing for death, today we’re going to explore the fates of the villains who weren’t killed.

Actually, I disagree with Sir Ector. I admit that he's not the best father you can have out there (especially shown through him calling Arthur "Wart), but let's think about it. His "Four hours of extra kitchen duty" wasn't out of malevolence; Arthur HAD gone running off into the woods which was described as, "Swarming with wolves." Remember, Sir Ector WAS upset about Arthur running off like that, so we know he cared. Put yourself in his shoes, your son (foster or not) goes running off into a dangerous location that he should know better than to do, and he comes back with a "I'm sorry Sir." No, I really don't think that "I'm sorry" IS enough! Arthur needs to learn that there are consequences to his actions. It's a disciplinary action.
Later, when he gets more demerits, he WAS late to whatever it was he was doing and then he comes in with a story that, be honest, you'd NEVER believe! Again, a disciplinary action, Arthur was late and to Sir Ector's knowledge, he lied to him about why.
Then we get his reaction to the kitchen cleaning. Merlin's "You call washing dishes and sweeping floors a work of evil?" misses the point. It wasn't WHAT the dishes, mop, and broom were doing, it's that they had been enchanted. Again, put yourself in his shoes, you come into your kitchen and you see flying dishes and cleaning equipment moving on its own when it clearly shouldn't be. Your initial reaction probably WOULD be panic and now that you see that Merlin is legitimate powerful, your imagination starts to run wild with fear. So in comes Arthur, who had popped off when he was given a task to complete, starts running off his mouth and isn't getting your cues to just shut up. OF COURSE he's going to get punished! I daresay we've ALL been there, some probably on both sides now! While Sir Ector's demeanor when he announces a new squire for Kay was jerkish, Arthur really and truly did bring it upon himself.
Don't forget, Sir Ector made Arthur his first choice for Kay's squire, thereby giving him a chance to eventually become a knight, and that DOES require a little something called, DISCIPLINE! So, while I wouldn't want Sir Ector as a father, I have to say, he wasn't a villain, but the disciplinary adult.

I'll say this. Hans getting more genuine consequences for his actions in retellings was nice to see. On the season of Once Upon a Time that served as a much better sequel to Frozen, Hans returned with an army only to be bested once more, and in Kingdom Hearts 3 his evil actions cause him to be transformed into a Heartless and subsequently killed by Sora. On that note, becoming a Heartless is in and of itself a fate worse than death, having the evil and malice in your heart transform you into a mindless monster whose only thought is to turn every living thing around it into more Heartless.

Whenever anyone questions how it is that I can talk shit about what is allegedly Disney's greatest movie of all time, I only need mention two things: "Pleasure Island" and "The Coachman".
Pleasure Island because Disney completely overhauled the original symbolism from "a lack of an education dooms you to a fate of manual labor, and people will try to take advantage of that" to "don't be a jackass".
And The Coachman because that is where Disney DOES remain faithful to the original.
They cut out the symbolism but left the villain getting away with it. AKA the EXACT OPPOSITE of what they should have done for a Disney movie.

    • @lucindamobley5492
      @lucindamobley5492 Год назад +9

I don't disagree with your line of thinking, and in most cases I would agree that the villain should never get away with the evil they do, but in Pinnoccio it weirdly made sense for it to turn out the way it did because the coachman was meant to teach him a lesson. It was a very close call, but it got the message across. But that's not to say the Coachman could NEVER be punished, because one of his victims got away and could tell people what happened. Gepetto could go to authorities and tell them that somebody was breaking the law and taking the boys to Pleasure Island. It may take some work, but they can and could catch him and make him pay.

I don’t know if they will make a live action Hercules, but here are a few changes I would want to see.
    1. Hades want to take over Mount Olympus because it’s his birthright and Zeus tricked him out of Olympus and fabricated the story that he(Zeus) took out all the titans.
    2. Phil wants to train the greatest hero just like how his master trained Perseus, who got his own constellation in the night sky.

You can only imagine what occured afterwards as he has a major fire phobia. Plus you also neglected to mention Honest John & his accomplice, a.k.a. the fox & cat from Pinocchio. If you read the original book you'll learn that the fox had gone lame & was also forced to cut off his own tail & sell it & the cat loses her (the book portrayed the cat as female) eyesight & both were reduced to begging on the street. When Pinocchio meets them he refuses to help them on account of his remembering their deceit & not willing to run the risk of being cheated again. depending on how importent the trade is the duke is in potentialy big trouble, also if he is the subject of some king or something like that he might be in a even bigger trouble.
oh and the other guy from that movie is defenitly in some big trouble for the crap he tryed to do unless he is a royal prince or something like that he would most likely not have nearly the same level of protection that the duke have, and monarcs dont like it when their subjects makes a political incident like that.
its frowned on to the degree that your family lose a large part ir not all their land and fortune and might be exiled to some area far away in the kingdom or teritory controlled and to the degree to the main person doing the deed that its a large chance to get hanged or a lot of other nasty ways to die. hanging and beheading is some of the cleanest ways unless other punishments are done first. if done in the correct way getting hanged will break your neck, but you might also have your head riped of your body or slowely choke to death all depending on the length of the rope. having your head choped of if done correctly is quick but some executioners did not do it well.

Frozen: From a certain point of view, Hans and the Duke can be seen as the ones more concerned about the people.
First off, Elsa, whether intentionally or not, did freeze up the entire region within her kingdom, and ran away, with no interest of returning, or taking responsibility, to the point that she was willing to kill her own soldiers and citizens. (Which, Hans of everyone saved from Elsa.)
In the meantime, Anna, handed the keys to the kingdom to Hans to run things, while she ditched, yes to chase down her sister, but she had very little interest in actually doing her job, as Hans got to Elsa before Anna. One can argue that she abandoned her duties as a princess.
Hans and the Duke actually ran things in the frozen city rather responsibly, and considered the well-being of the citizenry, going so far that Hans himself was delivering the blankets to all the people, even forgoing his own well-being.
I'd actually be concerned that no one in the kingdom chose Hans, since he was the one who ran everything and took care of things.
Elsa and Anna flouted their responsibilities to run away, and rather live like spoiled girls.
In fact, Elsa and Anna's parents are the evil ones in the movie. Instead of trying to solve the problem, they taught their daughters to run away from issues. Not to mention, they didn't educate their daughters.
It's bad enough, that Pocahontas is probably better educated and more literate than the two of them... And Pocahontas was not exposed to reading and writing, until after she met John Smith.

Interesting list. Here are some of my thoughts with info from sequels and other knowledge.
~Lady Tremaine was turned into a frog and scullery maid at the end of Cinderella 3, but she doesn't face harsher consequences in the second film or the third one for her actions. It's even stated in a book called Cinderella's Diary or something that they were still invited to the wedding in the original film but were sat next to the kitchens so Cinderella wouldn't necessarily have to see or speak to them. In short, they really got of lucky. (Anastasia has a redemption arc in the 2nd and 3rd movie)
~Yzma was turned into a cat at the end of the first film but she became mostly human again in Kronk's New Groove. The end of that film has her transform into a rabbit and be potentially "eaten" by hawk babies. And anybody in this comments section bringing up the television series; I'm pretty sure that takes place between the first and second film chronologically. All in all; Yzma has a pretty bad fate in the end (if you believe she was eaten; if not, then I'm not sure where she would fall tbh)
~Edgar did most likely die in that trunk if we're being honest, ngl
~Jafar does die in the 2nd film. He teams up with Hades on the show Hercules, where they try to take down Aladdin, then Hercules. Not inaccurate placement for just the first film though.
