    There is so much stuff that can be donated or repurposed in the hands of the right people. A large building like that must be needed some where or for some function. I love the the architecture and the nice long corridors. There are so many reasons to keep this building in good condition and reuse it for a purpose to benefit the community or surrounding areas.

    • @SkunkApe407
      @SkunkApe407 Год назад +4

      The school was closed because it was falling into disrepair. It is generally cheaper to fix a building than it is to build a new one, so the building is most likely in such a condition that repairs would be expensive enough to make such a venture cost prohibitive. It would probably be better for the county to tear down the building an reuse the land for future public works projects.

    The county and state should be held accountable for the environmental waste that they've allowed. I'm sure bond money from property taxes paid for the new school, but homeowners should be aware of just how disgracefully they left perfectly usable stuff. Certainly, at the very least, books and desks could be donated to 3rd world countries where children beg to have school supplies.

    • @SkunkApe407
      @SkunkApe407 Год назад +4

      Held accountable how? No laws were broken. You'd have a hard time proving injury to any party, making a lawsuit unlikely, as well. Sure it sucks that so much was left behind, but none of it classifies as environmental waste, either. You'd have to convince a judge that students were exposed to environmental waste while the school was open, in order to make that allegation stick.

    I'm so heartbroken to see my old high school like this. 1998-2002 it looked a lot better than that.

    Great video. Thank you. What a shame to leave that place abandoned. An to leave everything behind is just wasting the taxpayers money. Such a beautiful school!!!!

    The chemicals in the science room amazed me the most. The metal cabinet behind the chair is where the powerful stuff was kept. There were several containers in there.
    This is a perfect reminder that government institutions don't think twice about wasting taxpayer's money.

    Such a shame, it's a really beautiful building. Seems like it would have cost less to fix this place up than to build a whole new school. Just so wasteful.

    It seems to me like they could take the books and they could have gave them to the students they could have gave them to the faculty or even donated them. And for it to be abandon only since 2018 I mean it's mind blowing. But yes thank you for giving that salute to Judd at the end of the video that was awesome. My top three favorite 80s movies, me being 52 really cherish those times

    That’s a shame. We see this all over the country. Abandoned buildings that sit empty for decades. I’d think they could be converted into something else, or at least repurpose some materials. What a waste.

    books and other things to those who need it.

    3:32 I am reminded of a Twilight Zone episode… A guy who loves to read found himself all alone on earth and found a destroyed library but hundreds of books… This area would be a book lovers dream- just needs a source of food and drink… They could live happily ever after; more than enough entertainment for years in those books, I suspect lol.
