That was a very nice walk through and tour. I enjoyed seeing Lamont collaborating with you. It was especially good that Lamont pointed out the controversy concerning James Earl Ray. Early after the assassination, there was serious doubt concerning Ray's guilt. A number of aspects of the crime scene did not line up with the official story. Thank you, Lamont, for pointing out what is largely ignored by so many other RUclipsrs. He invests the time and effort to be as accurate as possible.

We went to Brushy Mountain, in 2020. We toured the grounds and distillery as well. At the time we were there, the owner of the distillery was putting up bottles of a "first run" of a whiskey, onto the shelves. After a sample tastin, we started chatting and he explained that the literally just finished the first run of this whiskey and first bottling. I asked if it was for sale yet or not, being that there were only a few cases at that point, and he said yes. He handed me a bottle that he just put onto the shelf, and I completed the purchase. Being that
I bought the first customer bottle sold I paid to have the bottle engraved with the day and such. This was the first time they had used the engraving, so the spacing was off center, and such. They offered to give me another bottle and to try again, but I wanted to keep the authenticity of being the first bottle sold, so I kept it. We chatted some more, and took pictures. It was a neat experience.

15:00 Looking at it from this view, one would think it's not such a bad place. I've seen prisons in lots of movies and it really doesn't prepare you for this

I used to fill the vending machines at Graterford State Prison , Graterford, Pennsylvania on the weekends, when you went to go in, they searched every box you had on your hand truck, when I first went there the steel door slamming put the fear in me, once, an inmate said to me, we have a spare cell for you, I said No Thanks, haha, he laughed. On the outside of the walls there was Lifers who were trustees, they had it better because they had dorms instead of cell doors, a lot more freedom. An inmate with HUGE Muscle Arms would carry up , no lie, 6-7 cases of 20 Oz Pepsi bottles right up the steps, in exchange, I gave him anything he wanted, snacks, cakes, sodas, and candy out of the truck, I did not dare asked him what his crime was, he was cool to me but I was still wary of him, haha. There’s my dumb story, he!!

Fabulous video. I used to work in corrections doing mental health. They sure never did any upgrades to this prison. That segregation, D block, is pretty standard. Sometimes an inmate was placed in seg for their protection, too. Always amazed me that the inmates broke themselves off into racial groups by choice. The hair grooming sets kept in boxes were for each race. I always wondered what Jesse Jackson, Jr thought of that when he served.

You all are missing the point - its supposed to be secure and horrible - so no one wants to be sent there. Prison is not rehabilitation, it's discipline for people who never learned it as a child. Learn it when you're young or the prison system will teach you the hard way later.

    • @ladycheyne5607

Except prison is rehabilitation (that's college level Corrections 101) Stop treating them like animals and they won't behave that way. The American prison system is trash. Land of the free, yet we have the highest number of incarcerated people.

The only thing the US prison system teaches is that you get raped for a pack of soup or no reason at all. Random punishing is not rehabilitation and it does not teach about discipline at all - the opposite is the case, because no matter how good you try to behave, you will get smacked, raped or killed when you do not obey the rules of exactly those people who are also in prison for committing crime.
You, Sir, do not know jack about prisons at all and what you say, I call BS.

@Duke the meister If you experienced that, I'm sorry. No one deserves the American prison system. What they teach you in college and what happens in reality is soul crushing. I hope you have a better life and things are going better for you.
