  • Hey everyone! Welcome to the video!
On August 23rd, 2022 German Chancellor Olaf Scholz visited Toronto on a three stop Canadian tour planned with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. The route included Montreal, Toronto and Stephenville, Newfoundland to conclude the trip.
Trudeau arrived on RWY 06R in the Challenger while Scholz arrived on RWY 05 with the Airbus A340 and was towed in with a grand welcome. A motorcade of 20 or so cars followed afterwards as the two leaders headed downtown for a dinner that evening.
The following morning, the two leaders participated in a bilateral meeting and a few events before readying up departure to Stephenville. A Royal Canadian Air Force CC-150 Polaris came in to transport Trudeau out to Stephenville followed by the Germans who left shortly afterwards around 1300hrs off RWY 33R in the Airbus A340.
Thanks for watching the video! All the best!

great job buddy! wow..i'm first again! hahaha! when i was out and about the other day, i saw a quad jet flying overhead since i noticed it's exhaust (pardon me please..i forget the correct terminology) while doing some errands. it could have possibly been that plane (either that or a 747 cargo taking off). it was still climbing in altitude and with me in Cambridge, couldn't spot it well since it was too high in the sky. can't wait for the next vid! always great filming on your behalf especially at Pearson where you have to know where and when to get the best shots! cheers!

Thanks! Think it might have been the JetOneX Boeing 747, there was one in here a few days ago that departed sometime in the afternoon, think it was on Thursday.

Ernest great video of the air force jets on the go. As always you get some of the best angles for aircraft in your video. Nice to see older aircraft on the go, some are hard to find as newer planes have taken over the skies. What is going on with 06 24 lots of construction from the looks of it. Ernest have a great week and catch you on the next flight, hope all is good at home
with your family, God Bless bud.

Thanks a lot Chris! 06L/24R is undergoing runway construction and re-paving/re-surfacing. Should be completed by late September.

Oh it’s a gorgeous bird! Probably the last time we’ll see it here as they’re being retired at the end of the year to be replaced with the Airbus A350.

Nice work again Ernest. 😉😉Luv the C-150 Polaris bird, such a sleek machine.😀😀 I had not realized that the Airbus 340 had such a huge wingspan as well as the engines designed so far apart. Interesting.🤔🤔
I blew it again this year for the London Airshow ( I waited 2 long ) . I checked 2 weeks ago & both Sat. & Sun. was sold out..... dam. Looking forward to your excellent coverage of it though ! 1 of my top 3 fav aircrafts, the mighty C- 5 Super Galaxy will be there for the ground display. Darn.... again .☹☹

Thanks a lot! Yeah the 340 does have that design on it haha. Sorry to hear about London, yeah I’ll be there up close so looking to get some fantastic shots of the performers and static, hopefully you can try to make the arrival days at least to capture some birds coming in 🤞

Great shooting Ernest! I wondered who the hell that 340 was, it went right over me on the way in...

Why don't thry taxi under their own power? Anybody know?

Yes, at the North Lounge, due to wing size and the close proximity of hangar buildings in the area any aircraft larger than a Boeing 757 is required to be towed in. That is why you saw the Airbus A310 and Airbus A340 under tow.
