Just ordered my PTrumpet and I cant wait, Will be here in a couple of days. I'm a sax player who was taught by the late Gordon Tuck when I was just 14. Learnt on Alto now playing a Tenor. Really looking forward to my learning Trumpet Journey , wish there was a teacher like this guy near by. He's great and his tips I'm sure will help a great deal !

I love how easy the trumpet is in these lessons.
"Lesson one: Tighten your mouth and blow in the trumpet. Use the little buttons to make different notes.
Lesson two, Make it sound lovely."
I wish it were all so easy in real life. I just bought a cornet and it's not going as swimmingly as the lessons imply.

I have my pTrumpet waiting at the Post Office. I'll go pick it up tomorrow. I must say, this will be the least costly trumpet I've played in nearly 60 years of playing.
FYI, when you went up the Bb scale, the A sounded sharp, but when you came down the scale, it sounds more in tune. May be my ears; they are a bit on the used side of new.

What is that tune in the intro and the end of the video? It’s very catchy.😀

My god .... a lot of things to say :
1/ his breathing technique is not good. You can see his shoulders raising when he breaths in. Which means that he's not using his diaphragm correctly leading to tensions in the whole body. I assume this guy has some gifts from Mother Nature to balance this problem.
2/ normally we do not use the lips to go up and down, but the tongue .... the tongue makes the air flow faster or slower, which makes the lips vibrating faster or slower, which makes the sound going up or down.
3/ the third slide should be pulled on D otherwise it is too high, like here
4/ the sound of this trumpet is just awful ! And you can see that he has some intonation issues (G and A are too high) and the attacks seem to be very difficult especially in the softer register

There is no finger hook, I presume these kind of instruments have slides that can be removed for cleaning but they are not mobile. I have a Coolwind and there also no finger hook.

Geez Louise, it’s a plastic trumpet.
It’s not going to play like a $4000+ professional trumpet. It’s a great tool for exposing kids to playing for the first time, so they can get a sense if they want to stick with it, at which point they can get a better horn, and if they don’t, their parents are hardly out anything (mine was $129 plus tax).
Or it’s perfect for playing in high-risk situations, like in a pep band in the tailgate lots for the football games of a major university, like I bought mine for (where a lot of the fans are heavily drinking in tight, crowded spaces, in close proximity to one’s bell), so as not to put that $4000+ professional trumpet at risk. It’s also great for near the end of the season when it gets below freezing, and the valves won’t freeze like they do on brass horns.
You’re not going to play classical solos on it, but it’s fine for marching/pep band. Please cut the guy some slack. You sound like you were more interested in showing your expertise on the subject matter, than in commenting on the product in the spirit in which it was intended.
