@@Manic_Panic I have seen people rejecting them from one side. From what I have seen from black american side is that they don't consider biracial people as black or black enough, even worst if they happened to be too lightskin. Which is sickening. Maybe it's linked to their history and stuff.
In France tho, people don't really care THAT much. There is no black community in Europe like in america, what there is, is community based on countries not skin color. Many may come from Africa, we just don't have the same culture, language and religious belief. For exemple you will never see black from christian/atheist country be part of the same community of black from muslim country (Congo and Mali as exemple). Or associate with a country for which they have a lot civil war (Congo and Rwanda as exemple).
Since we call them mixed (métis) but it's doesn't have the same meaning as in english, in french it's mean more that you are part of both side and can be both. But they are called by how they chose to present themselves and their predominent features. Like for exemple we have a famous guy named Mister V. At first he may looked white but he is a lightskin mix, and most of us (black people and other) consider him black.

We were 10y, and it was a very horrible thing to say to two little dark skin girls. Also very disturbing to see how Black individuals sometimes see their skin tone as " the problem". We were born and raised in southern Europe as the second generation of African immigrants (like Marina in the video), she had already emigrated to the country as a teenager, and brought that way of thinking with her. She swore that she was only going to have children with white men and that her children were going to be like that too. And so it was, 8 children and 4 grandchildren later. She kept her promise. I do think it's mainly just curiosity. It's kind of what I think when I see someone with a unique look. My takeaway from this case study would be to ask the person if they don't mind if I ask a question about their ethnicity first and go from there.

He is technically a full-blood anything--but Korean. When people are full-blooded anyting they look at things totally different. He's asking them which side they would choose and that's like not a thing... Maybe in the historic past it was a thing because people were more ignorant, but especially depending on what your mixed with you can't say you're just one without the other. The girl is north African and italian- shes a gypsy basically. Hes asking her if shes Italian or North African. It's so hard for people who can just be like oh my parents ,my great-grandparents my great great great great grandparents are all just from the same place like it's easier for them to do that then others. But what if your grandparents all came from somewhere different and may have found likeness in each other? Its a whole new world

If it's coming from a place of genuine curiosity, I don't think it's a bad thing. Genuinely answer and guide them by explaining what certain questions can be construed as rude. If there's no harm meant, then none should be taken. Think of it like the curiosity of a child who doesn't know some of the questions they ask can be construed as hurtful when they are older and no longer innocently asking. By not showing anger and answering the curious questions, then we can educate. By closing yourself off, getting angry etc then you can cause what was curiosity to become fear or fester and turn into hate.

When you are born and raised in a homogenous country like Korea, you have to step outside of your preprogrammed thinking to wrap your head around a mix-culture mindset. It is easy for visitors to get offended, when they get questions which seem rude, but most of the time are just someone trying to connect with no experience in how to do so. In general most Koreans are trying to navigate uncharted waters. I believe in 10-20 years as more diversity and mixed couples grow within the country, greater understanding will come with it. .
