    When you laser cut aluminum it leaves a bit of slag around the part almost like its been plasma cut. Its not as clean as CNC router or waterjet but it is waaayyyyy quicker and cheaper.

    • @Jimmer-Space88
      @Jimmer-Space88 Год назад +1

      Mostly agree, they created this mess by charging for luggage. It doesn’t take a time study to figure out much of the boarding process. Consume time is watching people put stuff either over their seats or under their seats instead of just walking on and sitting down.

    • @Triple_J.1
      @Triple_J.1 Год назад

      No, putting luggage up takes all of 5-15 seconds.
      Spirit and Frontier charge for carry-on and they charge less for checked bags. But their bag check line is half an hour long. Not worth it.
      You cant seat only windows first because many people buy tickets in the same row with family. The they all have to board separately.
      The problem is they need to board zone 4 first not zone 1. Literally the worst possible way to board is from the door back. You should board from the back forward.

      Greed and arrogance. The old fart that designed this airplane decades ago has been a braggart ever since. Some of his builders are boot lickers, dumb enough to think that the cracks in the factory furnished parts are small and will be ok. Historically the structures will need to be inspected and signed off for flight, and not at the discretion of the first time builder's anticipation for high performance flight. An aircraft is subject to vibration, which aggravates sharp edges and if cracks are present makes them bigger until parts fail and components even fall off. I cannot believe the cavalier attitude towards junk parts!

      @@TakingOff Yes. In order to keep up with demand, Vans outsourced some parts to 3rd party vendors who used lasers to cut the holes. Not all parts in every kit are affected. Vans did testing to see if laser cut parts could safely be used. Most of them were deemed acceptable for use. Vans recommended some for replacement. Vans has a very inefficient business model. Cnc cutting every sheet on machines that are worth $200/hr and require constant setup, etc. is just not that efficient. Its not mass production its like prototype production. They should have had a computer program to adjust their kit prices based on component price changes. Fixed %. And also should totally discontinue older kits like the 3,4,6. Focus only on the 7,8,9,10. Adding more designs to an inefficient model makes it worse, not better.

    The ENTIRE problem with ALL of GA (VANS included) is GREED and politics. Until those two things change, I feel that GA is going to be down the road of extinction. Three things come in mind- 1- When the cost of a used airplane is more than a house and 2- the hourly cost to RENT an airplane is more than a MONTHLY car payment and 3- when you are required to use a CERTIFIED part when the term CERTIFIED does not mean a damn thing (who is accountable if the high price for a CERTIFIED part fails? no one) , aviation is doomed. Just my two cents worth- these three things cover the GREED and the politics that are destroying GA. I hope this new FAA head has his HEAD out of his rear end, and the rear ends of the politicians in order to make significant, meaningful changes.
    If I am off base on the certified part issue please educate me! I am on the understanding that the term certified is just a title and means literally nothing as to the quality control of the part and doesn't hold anyone accountable if the part has issues. If that is truly the case , how the heck does this happen???

      Hard to answer that without a whole lot more details. But I'd look for an A&P with make/model experience.

      Being from a Far away place makes it challenging. Recommendation from someone in the area is worth a lot in my opinion.

    After 911 I would have thought we would have learned our lessen about teaching foreign students how to fly. This needs to stop right now.
