Another excellent and interesting episode, the boots are looking great and I’m glad they appear to fit. The colour is looking great too, and the copper tacks will be excellent with the brown/tan leather. I look forward to the next episode, take care, regards, Chris.
Great looking clogs, glad you find walking in them ok. Try looking out for horseshoe shaped rubber soles for them, I don't know if they are still available. All I can say is well done you.
Just a thought but maybe a steel rod of a suitable diameter clamped in a vice might allow you to pull the last, instead of wrestling with it and the poker
OLD LEATHER SMITH here, looking good Harry, Suggestions, try chalk instead of a pen 4 marking, you can rub it off if you make a mistake, when I get better and start walking again I would like 2 know how comfortable those boots are, when walking 5 to 8 Miles a day on a hard serfice, when dying if you would use a scrap of sheep wool you get a more even dying than a dauber, God's BLESSINGS my friend in leather ✝️⚾🙃
If I shut my eyes, I picture a gaited horse walking along. Nice job Harry 👏
Hi Harry I think I'd better put my name down for a pair now ha ha they are looking really good

Thanks very much
You Would Think Maybe They'd Thread The Lasts So You Could Pull Them Out From The Ankle With A Bolt Or Something
Yes that's a very good idea, I guess they reckon we all have lasting jacks, but it would be useful.

Yes a good idea Chris thanks.

Bonjour, pourriez vous me dire quel bois on utilise le plus pour faire des formes ? Merci beaucoup pour votre réponse 😋 j'adore ce que vous faites !
Merci. Alder wood...bois.
Excellent video, thank Harry
I find this so interesting!
Wonderful.
Did they made all boots with copper nails to avoid rusting of iron nails? Or were/are there alternative methods to bind leather to wood?
I think they sometimes used brass, and sometimes steel tacks. I do like the copper!
They are coming along nice. Thanks for sharing.
