I'm very interested to hear what you think of Ready Player One. I have so many books on my TBR for August that I can't begin to pick one that I'm most excited for. I really just want to read all of them.
Death comes as the End is one of my favourites. I'm excited to read Daughter of the Forest by Juliet Marillier and Queen of Hearts by Colleen Oakes in August 😊
I didn't know about that Death Comes at the End! I am fascinated. Can't wait to hear what you think. I'm just excited about being able to read again! It's been semi-impossible to do it with all the smoke. :D
I'm really curious to see how Death Comes as the End is! And I'm sorry to hear about all the smoke, we've finally got a break from all the forest fire smoke this week.
I didn't love Hinds Feet, but I did like it and found it helpful. As you were choosing the cards, I was hoping for the emoji one to get picked, even though broccoli is gone 😂.
Love your TBR prompt cards, Chantel! This would be a great way to repurpose one of the many unused decks of cards I still own from my 80s-90s childhood. Your mentioning of Ready Player One being a really big nod to the 80s convinced me to bump this book up on my TBR. I look forward to your ending thoughts on this book, Chantel.
I read Hind’s Feet when I was 18. I loved it then, and have avoided it because I worry I wouldn’t like it as much now 😄 I definitely want to read the Brant Hanson one soon! I’ll have to see if I can listen on Hoopla.
I can't wait to hear what you think about Ready Player One. I didn't think i would like it but I'm a kid of the 80s so the nostalgia might be what will draw me in.
I'm eager to hear what you think about Where Darkness Dwells. I'm participating in Chautona's Camp ReadMore in August. The only book I officially picked for it is Silence of the Clans. I'm experimenting with a BookTube channel and put up an August TBR video.
From what I remember of Death Comes at the End, I liked it. It wasn't my favorite but still a respectable Christie. Very different setting than her other ones, but I think it felt the same.
Your "indie" and "first sentence" prompts made me think of the award winning indie book I'm currently reading and highly recommend, "The Wickwire Watch" by Jacquelyn Hagen. It's gaslamp fantasy, steampunk, mystery. The first sentence: "Had Mr. Bash known this was the night he was going to die, he would have stayed home."
❤📚❤️ You have so many that sound really good! I'm excited for reviews. I'm reading Navigating Early by Clare Vanderpool for your challenge. I'm also reading Book Lovers by Emily Henry and Longbourn by Jo Baker.
I just started "Wimpy, Weak, and Woke" by John Cooper, and I'm really leaning towards "The Eternity Gate" as my fiction pick. Who knows, I might change my mind.

Oooh, I’m anxious to hear about the Brant Hansen book. I read my first book by him a few weeks back-Unoffendable-& I loved it!
Raeca said it was great!
I'm looking forward to your thoughts on Hinds Feet on High Places. I've read it multiple times and it is likely one of my favorite books of all time.

I was honestly hoping for emoji too!

If you go back and look at my older TBR videos I used some old Care Bears cards I had from my childhood!
@@ChantelReadsAllDay I remember your Care Bear cards in your older videos Chantel, and loved those too! 💛
That Brant Hansen book is amazing!
One chapter in and I'm already laughing multiple times, it's a good sign.

AHHHHHH! Heading over now!

Interesting! I'm so curious now knowing it's set 2000 years ago.
Where Darkness Dwells sounds really good. I think it's available on Kindle unlimited which I picked up for this month so maybe I will get to it
Hi Chantel
I hope that you will enjoy the books that you are reading for this month - August.
Take Care & Happy Reading

Thanks Linda!

Oh, I forgot to mention "The Wickwire Watch" won the 2023 Realm Makers award for best debut novel.
Um, that book sounds amazing! Going to check it out!

@@ChantelReadsAllDay Thank you! You too!
I laughed so hard on "fist sentence". ahaha
Glad you can enjoy my mistakes! 😜
I just started "Wimpy, Weak, and Woke" by John Cooper, and I'm really leaning towards "The Eternity Gate" as my fiction pick. Who knows, I might change my mind.
I hope you enjoy The Eternity Gate!
🤔 where darkness dwells 🤔
Is there an order to read Agatha Christie? Or can you just pick one up and read it?
Most of them no, not really. The Tommy and Tuppence series should be though (I think there's only six books in that one).
@ChantelReadsAllDay awesome thank you! I just bought And Then There Where None for 50 cents at my library!
