Yeah, scams do that. Many of them seem deliberately ridiculous to weed out any person savvy enough to see through it, leaving only the most gullible, ignorant, or downright stupid people for easy and reliable scamming. Making the scam too convincing would only increase their workload for no benefit to them.
Either that, or the scammers are stupid, too, and chose that strategy by sheer luck and because they're too dumb to choose anything else.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned the fact that 500 bucks for a sponsorship, let alone a sponsor that takes up an entire video, is horredus for someone with 1.7 million subs lmao.

I think sponsorships like this send out so many emails hoping to catch a kid or someone new to the industry that has no idea their worth or how sponsorships usually go. Its basically a scam :(
For funsies I tracked down one of the URLs in the email they sent and it’s some really grim stuff. Clearly aimed at exploiting a younger (high school-ish?) audience who might not have the skills to effectively deal with a sleazy business model.
