I’m telling you-you could create a program/course for emt students and get compensated monetarily for your time, effort, knowledge!!!(just an FYI!!!I absolutely appreciate the 2 you have now so much,so helpful and makes it easy to understand how to put everything together that I’ve learned so far.I’ve read and watched soooo much, constantly looking for help to understand and improve, and so far-your videos are THE BEST!!!!!Thank you again!Def a subbie of yours!Btw-hope school is going good for you!
Thank you Alec for this! Due to Corona I wasn't able to get the full education I needed to really solidify my knowledge but this helped a lot and I feel more comfortable with hand off reports. I embarrassed my self twice today during our last minute skills labs
Hey Adam, thank you for the positive feedback and I'm glad you found it helpful! I can say I've been there many times myself haha. Keep at it, pin-point what part of the assessment you're struggling with, and always find ways to improve your skills!
I was there just recently as well, I blanked pretty bad and it got me paranoid for the upcoming psychomotor exam. Just gotta swallow my pride, refocus, and practice until it gets redundant.
Thank you so much, this video broke it down so well. I just passed my written NREMT exam but my psychomotor is coming up so the skills sheets are getting much-needed attention. I hadn't realized how poor my verbal reports were since the only thing my professors told me was to 'sum up the assessment' which wasn't very helpful at all. Your 4-step process narrows it down simply but covers all the important bases. Could you do a video on spinal, joint, or long bone immobilizations? I would love to see your technique for those skills :)
Hey Cierra, congrats on passing the NREMT written exam and I'm glad you found the video helpful! I'll try to get around to making more vids in the future. School has been crazy busy. -Alec
Thanks for the easy to understand and practice explanation. I'm doing observation now and my FTO's like, "Hey! Next time, we'll get you started on the transfer report!" =D Call a code, this rookie's dead.
Hey John, Yeah, for all ALS transports the medic gives the initial report to the charge nurse and from my experience, the fire department medic leaves after the initial report. Sometimes they stick around but usually they rely on us to give the subsequent reports to the doc/PA and nurse assigned to the patient. If it's a really intense trauma, the medic will give the room report and I will provide any additional info at that point. I hope that helps. -Alec
This was a really good video. Better than my actual classes instructor

Hey Tammy, I'm glad you found the video helpful and I hope training went well!
Much appreciated!
If you’re with a paramedic, does the medic give the report?

What questions do you ask if you’re transferring a patient from the hospital or facility?
Questions to the patient or other medical professional?
i am watching this video as a new emt because i am tired of nurses yelling at me lol
It happens haha. I've found it best to not take it personally and figure out ways to improve for next time.
