Awesome film montage! Here's some films not in yet, and deserve to be: The Broadway Melody (1929), Mutiny on the Bounty (1935), The Great Ziegfeld (1936), Angels with Dirty Faces (1938), You Can't Take It with You (1938), True Grit (1969), Around the World in 80 Days (1956), Doctor Zhivago (1965), Ordinary People (1980), Kramer vs. Kramer (1979), Out of Africa (1985), Stand By Me (1986), Glory (1989), Caddyshack (1980), Braveheart (1995), Gladiator (2000), The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers (2002), The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King (2003), The English Patient (1996), Peter Pan (1953), Alice in Wonderland (1951), The Jungle Book (1967), The Fox and the Hound (1981), An American Tail (1986), Rudy (1993), The Omen (1976), The Last of the Mohicans (1992), Aladdin (1992), Aliens (1986), The Iron Giant (1999), Batman (1989), Coquette (1929), The Greatest Show on Earth (1952); the list could go on!
This is fantastic and Bolero really works beautifully with it. I completely enjoyed watching the whole thing. Well done. A few years ago I started watching through all of these in order, and making a similar montage as a side project (though taking longer clips). But I'm going incredibly slow and I don't actually expect to ever finish; I've only gotten up to 1928 so far. Anyway, it's fascinating to me how many times you and I chose exactly the same moments to include! If you ever do an update, heads up that there are a bunch of mistakes in the ordering that you might want to iron out. Also that's footage from the wrong McKinley inauguration.
I actually had The Girl Can't Help It on my nominations! Along with a few other movies that I figure should get into the Registry sooner than later, namely Boogie Nights, The Little Mermaid, Spider Man, Contagion, Borat, Blair Witch Project, The Big Chill, Straw Dogs, Requiem for a Dream...
I also always add in my nominations the Naudet brothers' documentary "9/11". That one shouldn't be a no-brainer. Also the Video Killed the Radio Star music video. The Registry needs more culturally, historically, and aestheically deserving music videos.
There are actually no rules saying there aren't any non-American films allowed into it. As a matter of fact both Lawrence of Arabia and A Clockwork Orange are in the registry despite being British films.

Angels with Dirty Faces is in!
Dedication of the most amazing point, this content cured my sadness and inspires me to love older films like Cars.

If there’s one film that belongs in the National Film Registry, in my opinion, it’s Kung Fu Panda.
Amazing!🔥🔥🔥
Can a list be made of which one are in this video? I would GREATLY want to know!
I imagine Mean Girls (2004) going into the registry someday.
There are 75 more films to be added
Please elaborate
@ there have been 75 films added to the registry since this video was made
@@imactuallykools oh fair
Chicken little, because it was the first Digital 3D film.
What?
You haven't updated this vid even when the 2022 list was revealed
Blud, you need to update this.
You still need to update this
Honestly, I wish the Library of Congress would allow foreign films into the Registry.
I did suggest some Foreign Movies but they were imported to the United States. These Include:
Metropolis
M
Battleship Potemkin
And A Trip To The Moon.
There are actually no rules saying there aren't any non-American films allowed into it. As a matter of fact both Lawrence of Arabia and A Clockwork Orange are in the registry despite being British films.
Are you gonna update it for the new additions?
They say they intend to in the description. From my understanding it shouldn't take too long, just add 25 more seconds.
Predictions for the 2023 choices??
The Nightmare Before Christmas, Lady and the Tramp, Terminator 2 and Home Alone were announced.
