Though i got into melodeath through bodom, it was In Flames, At the Gates and Dark Tranquillity
Though ATG is gone, In Flames jus doesn play melodic music anymore (IMO) so that leaves the great oldDT, goin good and goin strong i tell you!

i wanna know what strings they are using because they tune down to B and strings seem to be holding solid in place , i know its di addario but what gauge ?
any ideas ?
and of course dark tranquillity never mess up like those other bands out there..

I didn't say that At The Gates is the ultimate metalband, even though that is my opinion. What i meant to say which I don't know how you missed is that when you talk about the pioneers and "creators" of melodeath you're almost obliged to at least mention At The Gates, seeing as they played as big a role as DT and IF.

56-11 should hold it
i used 60-11 and that held fine and i have used 56 in the past and it works fine at least it held for me
What Pickups are mounted onto that Gibson ? I cant tell what's the bridge pup
im using GHS boomers 70-12 but when i install those , i need to do a full intonation for the guitar which sucks and a 56-11 strings wouldnt hold properly on B tuning ,dont you think ?
@Coreyland I know they have a Seymour Duncan fetish, proven over the years. In which they jumped to a lot of combination, varying from the SH-4 to Sh-6 and now SH-12 and some invaders yes, but I dont think it's an invader on that guitar. the invader is just too "out there" looking, u knw wt i mean ? it looks like a subtle SH-something :)

it doesn't matter if you think ATG are gods or not, they still are the pioneers of the genre, not children of bodom (though they are one of the earlier bands of the genre)

It's a great DT album, But it isn't on par with Character and Fiction, those were Incredible.
I'd personally place it on an equal state with Damage Done, maybe a bit better.

Meh. I don't care who established it, nor do I want to care. This sounds no different really from any of their other albums, or any other band in this genre.
