    7:40 the (lack of) lag is the whole point of mid-drive motors, which usually come with torque sensor instead of PAS. It makes night and day difference in traffic and uphill start.

    OMG! Some amateur mistakes in regard to the transportation quest - why not using a backpack as any sane biker would? Guess we all have to learn it the hard way😜.
    And going down the stairs with the city bike: I now see why you thought 45£ to be a cheap offer😈.
    Finally, taking the „grassy route“ might not count as a felony there, but better don’t do it in „three strikes and your out“ states🤪
    Ultimately, some fine parking skills on the eMTB were shown - I applaud 👏! Now add 4h to the eMTB for another trip to the police to register its theft that probably only didn’t happen because of your geared up camera man kept standing nearby while you went shopping😜
    PS: Funny video, I had to laugh hard multiple times 😜👍

      Paniers on the back rack makes less back sweat and a lower center of gravity. I have pedaled 200 pounds (weight) of groceries uphill (15% grade) in my paniers. 15 pounds in my backpack when cycling makes my back hurt.

    • @PhilosoFox
      @PhilosoFox 2 года назад +1

      @@apm9507 Sure, panniers are the best option! Despite being overkill for that 0.95kg of groceries in the video, I would also prefer these to a backpack. He could even use a bikepacking dropper post pannier for that minuscule shopping back on his emtb ;)

    I have a hardtail that I equipped with fenders, rack, lights etc that I use as commuter bike, and a full suspension E-MTB. Both are mid-drive. I'd take the full suspension every day if I had nothing to carry. Unfortunately that's rarely the case, and my two vaude 28l are often full to the brim. And please, don't use rucksacks for commuting, as it makes you sweat even in winter.

    Why do bike shows always have to focus on speed - not everything is a timed competition. Better would have been comparing the ride, visibility, storing while shopping and transporting of goods all while staying on legal routes. EMBN you could be much better at your editorial level. This vid is expertly produced - it’s just misguided in what it’s offering your viewers - few of which are racing around

    Both bikes are restricted to the same speed limit, so its obvious emtb would be faster, because it can do obstacles much faster and easier. Price is not a point here, because if you have city bike and want to do some fun stuff, you will need to buy secend bike, emtb can do it all, its always better to have one bike, than many, especially if you don't have a big garage.
