It amazes me how many hikers and even Hunters go into the woods with their bear spray in the bottom of their backpack and their gun not loaded. Never turns out well
I’ve just recently started camping with just my little dog. I keep a knife handy and bear spray ready. I also turn around often to see behind me, talk to my dog or sing, and let others know where I’m going and when to expect me back.

Wow Addicus absolutely amazing coverage of these attacks!! I was spellbound from beginning to end! The first story was really shocking for these people to have lived in this situation of so many starving bears! Just so sad for the bears, and normally I’m always human life over animal and still feel the same but this was just a terrible situation! And yet again from the other stories I’ve learned something new regarding my emergency kit adding quick clot. Which I will adding 👍 thanks as always for your exceptional channel! there are a couple of your stories when a car and horn show up and run the bear off with the horn. I wonder if one could carry the thing boats use? it's like a can of air that one cleans the computer with except it's really loud. i wonder?? too bad, @36:00 you said "bear horn".
I'm super proud of those little girls! They did as they were taught, and the instructions worked! I suppose they're grown now (missed the year of that event) and like all military brats, they remain resilient and strong, good examples to everyone they know!

If i lived in bear country, I'd install steel reinforced, outswing doors. Keeping out a brown bear if it really wants in isn't easy, but I'm damn sure not going to make it easy for them.

Treated bandages may be good for superficial wounds. Cravat or elastic bandages aid the bone, muscle and joint injuries. Large safety pins tighten the victim's clothing to compress and support the injured area. Oral anti-shock solutions may be made with salt and baking soda, if available.
We are absolutely agreed!! Obviously, the only sensible, reasonable, logical, rational, intelligent thing to take along with one, is, a Bear. As Jesus once very famously said: "Always bring a bear to a Bear Fight."

As sad as it seems, when bears become desperate, they will improvise for another source of food. I'd rather see population lowered than man becoming a new food source. Our climate is changing and we need to get into trying to changing things in order to save this planet.
The kayakers were in Brown bear central and like in Polar bear country a portable battery powered electric fence around the tent/camp area be real smart along with super loud hi-decibel air horn, shotgun & capable pistol along with 2-big cannisters of bear spray-> ideally foaming bear spray from Cold Steel Getting attacked+/or eaten alive by a serendipitous Brown bear shouldn't be an option for an enjoyable time in the wild = Esp. men ~ with the women and children involved in your care...!
I saw in a video where a camper rigged up an electrical fencing system & it didn't work. The polar bear walked right through it like nothing happened. I think their fur is too thick & they're too big for it to phase them. IDK of any other reason why it didn't work. 🤷♀️

I feel bad for the sow. It is not the bears fault that food was scarce that year. 100 bears killed mostly because of man's clearing the land and mother nature's lack of food. What a waste. Hunting management would have helped. Hunting is game management.

What do people expect they take their land because they are greedy and want more and more but the bears are paying the price we don't want stranger in our house well neither do they
They're not people to think about such things only what can they serendipitously find to eat = so don't be something they want to or can eat by being up for detering such and bears will go on their way searching else where...!
They became over populated without Proper Wildlife Management to provide balance...! Certain Wildlife popjlations will over populate- and with predators will over-predate limited food resources eating themselves unsustainably out of house & home...! So must be thinned as a population requires = hunting seasons with selected quota's for each species has worked very well...! If not done mass starvation of various species will follow whether predator or prey critters and has been the cause of most extinctions over millenia in "boom and bust" cycles...! Man with knowledable commonsense practices can properly assess and determine the correct recourse as population systems unfold...!
