I was bout 7yrs old when my great uncle sat me on the couch and put on a Ray Stevens vhs and I laughed so hard. One of the best memories of my childhood
Jimmy Buffett Dropped out (?) of Southern Miss to start his career. He owns a Casino/Restaurant Franchise. Anybody ever been to Margaritaville in Biloxi?!
Having been raised evangelical Pentecostal (which I have strayed far, FAR away from as an adult) the line about Sister Bertha Better Than You always makes me laugh, because I saw so many women like that growing up 😂 hell, I'm related to a couple of them😂
I have been waiting for this! Everyone who has ever attended church (especially in the south, I think) knows every church has a Sister Bertha Better Than You. The church I grew up in, it was the assistant preacher's wife. She even has the same smirk as ole' Bertha in the video here. When my brother was in the third grade, during recess one day, a friend of his attempted to catch a squirrel. Believe me, the squirrel won that battle. It escaped and my brother's friend had to leave school to go to the doctor because his hands and arms were a bloody mess. Can we see a picture of you in the suit? Your conversation reminded me of when my brother got married and my dad, who is a jeans and t-shirt man all the way, was dressed up to the nines and we were all getting as many pictures as we could because we knew as soon as the ceremony was over, he would change ASAP, because the reception as a BBQ at a lake house. And yeah, he changed in record time. More Ray Stevens songs - "The Ballad of the Blue Cyclone (Parts 1 and 2)" "Shriner's Convention" "The Pirate Song (I Want to Sing and Dance)" "Along Came Jones" He is one of the best at comedy music. Toby Keith's "How Do You Like Me Now" is pretty funny. And Johnny Cash's "A Boy Named Sue" and "One Piece At A Time" is one of my favorites. Also, Terri Clark's "Girls Lie Too" just make sure it is the official video because OMG it is hilarious. Keep up the great work, guys. I look forward to your videos. I love your honest reactions and you have introduced me to a few songs/singers I have never heard before along the way.
Please react to “I’m still a guy” and “Then” by Brad Paisley. First one is very funny with great guitar and the second one is one of the most beautiful love songs you’ll ever hear!
I vote for those as well and also three others by him "there is no I in Beer" and "Welcome to the future" and also "Listening to Old Alabama" the Live version, hopefully these get the votes or some bribes
Music Minister's kid, here. Dad was in ministry until strokes sidelined him. People: IF YOU think you will find a "perfect" church; you won't!!! I don't care what denomination whether Catholic or Methodist or Baptist___ we are all imperfect. So, LOL; just putting it out there! 🤣👍🙏
I love your reactions! So much fun! Keith is sooo right about Jerry Clower. He was hilarious! My Daddy’s favorite! Please react to some Jerry Clower. Dustin’s been behaving very well and deserves to hear Mr. Clower’s talents. 😁 Thanks guys! ❤️🙏😇
Mississippian, here! Mr. CLOWER, in my estimation, was a National Treasure. He was raised in a small town called Yazoo City, MS. (Yes, it IS on the actual Map). He was hilarious, politically incorrect, and loved the Almighty.
My very first concert was at six flags in MO, in the late 70s. I was maybe 13 years old and my parents took us to see Ray Stevens and Glen Campbell. I can remember Ray had everyone in tears from laughing so hard. Glen came out and said he hadn't been watching because if he watched Ray's part that he was too out of breath to sing. As far as birch. Birch bark is what used to be used instead of aspirin. It has that bitterness to it, that is probably what you are catching in the bourbon.
I remember Jerry Clower. Mom loved him and I believe that Dad bought her the album "This, That, and the Other". You are right, listening to him will make you laugh. I love Ray Stevens and this was another one of my favorites. Glad that it was a bribe. I also liked that you moved your hats/caps.
You guys want a shocker? React to Dear God by Hunter Hayes! He plays every instrument on the track and can play over 30 instruments. The song wasn't played on radio because it was too shocking lol
This reminds me of the time when my mom and i had guests over and there was a bat flying a round the house. Now i nor my mother are scared of bats it is just the idea of something flying over our heads is the issue. So i'm trying to catch the bat with a pillow case, keeping the cats from getting all the while not trying to hit the guests who were laughing so hard i think they needed new underwear, Well i was able to gently whack the bat to the ground but couldn't find it until mom screamed and started to strip off her pants. The bat was crawling up her leg and she didn't care who was in the house. Mom thought it was funny when it happened and she thought it was funny till the day she passed.
You guys should definitely do "It's me again Margaret" and "Shriners convention". Oh and another vote for some Jerry Clower even if it's not technically singing lol
Great reaction guys. But the thing I've got to point out is that Ray Stevens was as much making a mockery and pointing out hypocrisy as he was having a good time with something else.
Such a hilarious song... My aunt and uncle had squirrels in their attic (about 30 years ago) and my uncle though it was a good idea to go up in the attic with his shot gun to kill them. They discovered they were up there because my aunt was taking a bath and relaxing and when she looked up at the vent above the tub she saw eyes looking down on her. AND, if shooting in the attic isn't dumb enough... a few years later when they moved into an old farm house, they had a skunk UNDER the house and he did the same... got under the house with the shot gun, and started shooting. Not taking into consideration that all the plumbing including the propane lines were under there. Thank goodness he didn't hit any of those but good lord. 🤦♀
@@BourbonCountryReacts The show is genius! Not sure if you have access to this down there, but on our streaming service in Canada, there is a companion series where they did commentary on every episode of the first three seasons. They talked about this scene. K. Trevor is hilarious.

Ray Stevens is always good for a giggle. Gotta say, y'all turnin' your hats to the side was funnier. Great reaction. Bourbon has a really nice color. Would it be good to make a bourbon chicken? Jack Daniel's is normally used but I thought maybe I'd try something new. My health update in case you're curious: Reconstruction after a mastectomy sucks donkey butt! Because the surgeon who performed the mastectomy didn't do it as it should have been done, the plastic surgeon had to go in and fix. So instead of just having saline bags to expand the skin for the new ones, metal cups also had to be used to aid the saline bags. So far after 5 saline injections I thought the final surgery would be scheduled...boy was I wrong and it's my fault. Some how I managed to lose 9 lbs in a week (it's been 102° with a heat index of 104 or higher, since the last week of May) it's been way too hot to eat much so I lost weight. 3 more injections. Y'all seemed a lil, lugubrious in video. Hope all is well with y'all?

You really need to get a bribe for Everything is Beautiful. It’s very upbeat but not funny like so many of Ray’s. Things are financially too bleak for me to bribe right now but I appreciate the others that do!
Some of their songs/skits did NOT age well....still hilarious. Check out "Southern Air" and you can get a double whammy...Ray sings and Jerry's flying the plane.
The irony is that Ray Stevens could really sing. His song "Everything is Beautiful" is really good.
That is a truly beautiful song
He could also play piano quite well. He is known for his comedy songs; but this guy is no slouch!
I love "self righteous church' and "Sister better-than-you".
i always wondered about "the Pastor got saved". um, huh?
Jerry Clower was from Mississippi; Yazoo if I'm not mistaken!
