In all fairness, this song is in a language that is most likely not her first one. While it's possible she could be fluent in English, more likely she loves the song and used her voice to copy the syllables. In this context, the meaning of the words isn't near as important as having the correct pronunciation and melody, so as a performer she wouldn't feel pressured the proper emotion behind each phrase.

Its a hard song. Pronounciation is key in musicals and this takes a lot of concentration, cause englisch is not her mother language. She went to the same school as me and sung every year for the teachers and students. There she was way more performing... thats why I think she was just super nervous

Ich glaube das Problem ist, man kann es nicht allen Recht machen 🤦🏼‍♀️😂 Es gibt ein Video von einem Mädchen, das bei The Voice Kids 'Popular' aus Wicked gesungen hat und die wird in den Kommentaren genau wegen der Emotion runtergemacht. Sie sei arrogant, eingebildet und nicht ernst zu nehmen. Dabei kommt sie an Glinda ziemlich nah ran was Emotionen und Gestik angeht. Die Interpretation hier fand ich sogar ziemlich gut, hatte etwas mehr von Pop als von Musical, aber why not? :)

Besser als Barbara Streisand wird es wohl kaum jemand machen (wobei der Vergleich einer ausgebildeten Sängerin und eines Kindes in einer Casting Show an sich bereits hinkt!). Aber Lea Micheles Version ist zum Beispiel absolut gar nicht meins. Mir persönlich ZU over the top und nicht mehr authentisch. Naya Riveras Cover Version aus Staffel 5 von Glee wiederum fand ich genial! Und wie gesagt - Geschmäcker sind verschieden, jedem wird es nicht gefallen. Ich finde die etwas Pop angehauchtere Version gut :) Im Musical würde das natürlich so nie gesungen werden, aber warum soll man es nicht mal ausprobieren?

Aber ja ist vielleicht unfair ein Kind mit zwei der besten Musical-Stars ever zu vergleichen.

Ich finde ja, Musical-Songs sind für diese Sendung nicht unbedingt die beste Wahl, da sie weniger auf der Stimme und dafür sehr auf der Musik aufbauen. Das Ende ihrer Performance ist dafür ein gutes Beispiel:als sie das Wort Parade so lange singt, kann ich mich immer nur auf die sehr präsente Hintergrundmusik konzentrieren.

Naja, meiner Meinung nach kommt es darauf an, aus welchem Musical der Song kommt. Die klassischeren Musicals sind nicht so gut geeignet, wobei die moderneren Musicals ja alle sehr poppig sind und technisch sehr anspruchsvoll und auch die Stimme hervorheben😊
