      I’ve been losing a lot of my hair over the last few months (I’m pretty sure it’s due to stress, but I’m getting tests done) my hair is super thin now. We found a few bundles of my sisters hair from when we were kids. We meant to donate it, but it was never sent in the mail. I’m really excited to make some extensions that will have the same texture as my own hair.

    This project was messy, but worth it! My extensions I made with your products have been in for 5 or 6 weeks so far, and it’s holding up WAY BETTER than the ones I made with Walker Tape. I’m sure I’ll make it over 8 weeks before I need to take them out. I also have fine hair, so I’m surprised it’s stayed so well.

    Can Liquid Gold/Beta Bond Plus adhesive be replaced by Walker Tape Ultrahold acrylic adhesive? Thank you for your answer in advance.

    • @Hairweftingtape
      @Hairweftingtape  2 года назад

      Yes that is what I use, always LG or Beta bond plus and always use a blow dryer to heat up the glue as your making your wefts, before you close your weft... to be very honest even though UH worked I never like ultra hold due to the horrible smell and I can't breathe it :( but that's just me, it works though, it's also VERY stringy hard to work with and again that's just me :) ok hope this helps! www.hairweftingtape.com

    Doesn't the liquid gold break down when you remove them from the head with the solvent? Wouldn't the hairs just get loose? And is the weft tape the same thing as the tape you use to stick the extension to your hair or would I need 2 different tapes?

    • @Hairweftingtape
      @Hairweftingtape  4 года назад +4

      Hi Lacey so so sorry I missed your question, :( but the solvent works great to remove the glue from the head but the tape always stays together and the weft does not break down so the answer is no ... See this tape was made to hold it all together so the glue stays intact and this is the reason for the WEFTING TAPE .. To be honest there are so many on youtube I see are just using any piece of tape and I feel bad because there weft WILL fall apart. Because that tape or that blue tape or whatever tape was not made for this purpose. But I hope you understand and I will be doing a take down video next week. This way everyone can see that the weft stays intact and it's not a problem as long as you made it right and you used the right tapes :) ok hope this helps.

    Quick question... so I saw in another video this same liquid gold be used as the actual adhesive you use to adhere the extensions to someone's head.. now, if I made my weft like you are in this video.. when I remove the tapes from my hair, would this not dissolve or fall apart the moment I put remover on the tapes?

    • @Hairweftingtape
      @Hairweftingtape  2 года назад

      Hi Beth! GREAT question but nope your weft will stay intact and only the glue on the backside of your tape in weft that was applied to your hair and hair extension will be removed. Remember always use warm water when removing ..funny how many people never use water? they only use the remover ..it works so much faster if you use warm to hot water first making the adhesive easier to remover :) And just so you understand and other reading this understand ...you never sandwich your hair using the glue with another weft...meaning your weft you install using the LG or beta bond plus will only attach to your hair and weft alone. ok hope this helps and soon I will make a takedown video for you all so you can see for yourself they stay together :) ok hope this helps Hairweftingtape.com

      HI Sara so sorry to hear this but let me say that the only way it will not dry is if you closed your wefts while it was still wet/white ? did you use a blow dryer on the glue and wait til it was clear before closing your weft? if not then it will not dry due to this glue needs air to cure.. I am sorry to hear this didnt work for you but I hope this helps ..www.hairweftingtape.com

      I think I want to turn the extensions into clip-ons that I can use for special occasions, but not every day. Also, how long will such extensions last if I only use them once in a while? I'm hoping that they can last me until my old age in case I need them then, as right I'm still young so my hair is okay. Would hair extensions last decades if not worn often?

    • @Hairweftingtape
      @Hairweftingtape  Год назад +1

      Hi @@therapturedmichelle what we always tell people is always make a test weft extension, but the fact your cutting off your own hair :( I would always suggest finding a company that will make a machined wefted hair extension for you using your own hair that you can trust and trust is KEY....or even better you could learn to sew it on a sewing machine this is where they sew your hair in one long line and it's done by a sewing machine and the reason we say this is once its been sewed it will last a lifetime :) especially if you make it into a clip-ins.... then sew your own clips to it. There are many people here on RUclips that show you how they did it....But if you really want to try the tape-in method you can always just try our kit #2 either it has the single side tape you will need to do it. But first, always make a test weft extension using cheap store-bought hair you don't mind playing with before you use your own! I am not trying to talk you out of making tape-in hair extensions but I really want you to be happy in the end if you cut off your own hair... I just am being very honest because making extensions is hard for some and easy for others, but in the end, it's not store-bought hair it's your own hair and that's unreplaceable .........if it were me I wouldn't want to waste a single strand of my own hair trying to make a weft extension for the first time...its always a trail and error for some. I hope this helps. www.hairweftingtape.com

      @@Hairweftingtape Hi! Thank you so much for your prompt response!! I tried searching for professionals that would create extensions from my hair for me but I couldn't find any that exist. Do you know of any? I do have a sewing machine and used to sew as a hobby, so I was planning on brushing up my skills and sewing the extensions myself. So if I sew all the hair I cut off into one long line, that will last a lifetime? How would I attach it to the hair on my head on the days I want to wear my one-long-line extensions? I could also cut the one-long-line into multiple pieces and attach a clip to each piece to create clip-on extensions? In order to use the sewing method, what materials do I need aside from hair and scissors? And which kit should I purchase from your site? Or do I only need to purchase the tape? I'm not sure which size either. THANK YOU AGAIN! :)

    Is the liquid gold what keeps it permanently together? I am wondering when you remove the extensions from your hair with the adhesive remover it only removes the tape not the glue correct? Im thinking about cutting the sewed weft off to make but want to be able to reuse the extensions several times.

    • @Hairweftingtape
      @Hairweftingtape  4 года назад

      Hi Hernandez Family and yes LG does keep it together and stays intact ..and yes the remover will only remove your tape not the LG. also your wefts can be cut and can be reused many times as long as you trim off the old tape and then re-tape for new installs :) because once you use removers it makes your old tape not sticky so that is the reason for re-applying your new tape, you can use Seamless pro extreme hold hair extension tape or our wefting tape either will work for reapplication ok I do hope this helps! Please view our videos on our website and you can see takedowns that are using the removers and trimming down your tape ..www.hairweftingtape.com

      @Hairweftingtape  Год назад

      Hi Sara and I am happy you like this video and you can cut anything off a weft ..meaning if you glued it and it is not working / for you then yes, as long as you don't mind losing length.. otherwise, I would cut the hair /weft and roll out our specialty Hair Wefting Tape again add the glue making sure you use a blow dryer to help cure the adhesive and hairweftingtape.com/products/hair-wefting-tape-strong-bond and then add the glue and longer hair for the length you cut off and then add whatever hair you like :) that way you won't lose any length......... Idea-wise and I do this all the time when I am re-wefting my own hair extensions and I love the hair I have but want to keep my longer length ..hairweftingtape.com/

    Is it possible to make solely from my own hair? I’m starting chemo and would like to make a halo to wear under hats.

    • @Hairweftingtape
      @Hairweftingtape  Год назад

      Hi, Lucinda first I am very sorry for what you are going through 🙏and I am pleased to help you in any way I can. So yes! you can make a halo, but I do believe the string/fishing line would hurt the skin on your head after a bit of time due to it pulling. Here is what I suggest. When making your own single-side wefts using your own hair once done you can then add a glued-on felt or soft cloth on one side of the single-side tape that sits on your head, that way it would be very easy on your head, and very comfortable instead of a line/string hanging or pulling on your head after many hours, also if its hot it would feel better then a single side tape piece. So then on the other side that would stick to your hats just add some very thin velcro/ the kind that sticks, that would stick to the opposite side of the weft. And then by adding the holding side of the velcro to all your hats and on the other side of your hair extension weft you can just pull gently and that way you can wear different hats whenever you want. Also please I always suggest people use junk hair to make a test weft when first trying to make a hair weft extension it's always best to make a practice weft so you feel good about using your own hair when making a weft extension and not losing any of your own hair if you did it wrong. And as a tip please do not make a weft too thick !! due to any type of shedding because you don't want to lose any of your own hair. If you are still confused please email and I can show you some pictures of another customer who made her own wefts using her own hair for the same reason. Hope this helps you today! www.hairwefting tape.com
