    Can I suggest placing the tape 'just beneath' the sewn portion of the weft all the way along. Once complete, use a Sharp scissors to cut away the sewn portion. This step will allow the tape to lay flatter on your head without 'bulk'. It also allows for a tighter adhesion once you use the flat iron. Thank me later 😁🇬🇧

    I am thinking of using a protective bond (used on quick weave) in the top inch where the weft is. Letting that dry. Then adding the tape and cut the weft off... it will shed less ❤. I want curly hair tapeins but my favorite vendor doesn't have them so I'll make my own from the wefted hair😊

    Do you have a video that goes over maintenance or how long they last? What happens when some fall out? Does it damage your natural hair? Can you use regular conditioner and leave in treatments or will it cause the tape-ins to slip out? Can you use a hairdryer to dry hair?

    Not to rain on anyones parade but this is not a good idea. The weft creates added weight to the tape in which can actually break your hair off at the root due to the hair not being strong enough to hold it. The adhesive on the tape itself can also cause breakage if it’s not compatible with your hair type or you don’t remove it correctly. You might look cute for 6-8 weeks but unless you don’t care about your natural hair then I wouldn’t advise it.

    Love it! I'll be trying this for the first time. I got a far as making the tape extensions. I'll start the installation process tomorrow. I bought a bundle of hair from a local hair store and bought 360 count tape from Amazon for $10.99. I did well with learning and installing microlinks on my own hair, using wefts, stands, and i-tips, which I also made. So, I'm hoping this will go well, too. This was a really helpful tutorial. Are the tape ins sticky on both sides of only 1 side? How do you get it to only be sticky on one side so you can sandwich your hair between 2 tape ins?

    • @ImpressDivinity
      @ImpressDivinity 2 года назад +1

      It's sticky on both sides just like double sided tape. You place the tape on the weft, leave the covering on the other side while flat ironing. Remove the covering and apply to the underside of your hair, repeat the process and apply to the over side of your hair sandwiching the hair between the two wefts. One side of the tape applies to the weft and the other to the hair.

    I dont think your supposed to add heat to these tape ins anymore ftok ny understanding but thats the type i use. I thought you were doing it bc ur adding to the weft but u did it on ur hair too. I was told comp unnecessary and u can actually mess it up bc it sticks to tge flat iron or can stick to it .. just dont wash ur hair once placed for 48 hours and should be good to go

  • @Ifscoach

    I bought some PU strip tapes to have as a base to put the double sided tape on and still be able to reuse. Im just not sure how to use PU! Maybe the flatiron method you shared here...

    The weft really should be removed when making your own tape ins.

    I got 3 bundles in my box, haven’t used them, I just had them because …. I did microlinks and it ruined my hair, I heard tapes are better. I think I know what to do

      Oh no! Iv recently been trying microlink, I love them. How did they ruin your hair? Hope you have a better time with tape ins

    • @theaudacityofnope
      @theaudacityofnope 2 года назад

      The pulling and pressure you apply on your hair trough the beads. My boyfriend would literally pickup individual microlink hair in the bed with the beads and my hair attached. It broke my long hair. Never again. I have naturally think hair so maybe that’s why.

      @@SherelleSaintRose it sounds as thought this person's beads had been closed too tightly which definitely cuts the hair and damages it. However if installed properly it is a gorgeous and great process. I say tape ins are definitely a safer process.
