Good luck with the repair! I had a Filson Harvey Messenger that I absolutely beat up for four years while travelling through SE Asia carrying my Leica kit. It travelled across Vietnam, Thailand, and the Philippines on the back of a motorbike so it was absolutely looking like yours once I finished up Indonesia. I sent it back to Filson who unfortunately deemed it "irreparable" but since they didn't make it anymore, they offered if they could keep it they'd send me out a free backpack of my choosing- so I went with the Filson Journeyman and added a Peak Design cube inside it. Works great! If I need something dedicated but still looks Heritage, I picked up an ONA Camps Bay in Field Tan which holds my Canon R5 Kit + Drone.
Wow that's amazing. If you still have the Harvey laying around I would love to see a photo of it! That sounds like the trip of a lifetime, are your photos posted somewhere? My Filson bag was actually delivered today, so I started working on a new video showing all the repair work. Stay tuned!
Brian, that’s very kind of you and I appreciate the comment. I’m a music maker and still found the audio the most difficult thing with this video! Hoping to improve on that in my next videos. Thanks for watching!
I got mine a few months ago off the secondary and it's in great condition. The only thing I don't like is the dividers like you said in the video. Not robust enough for me. I might just get some insert or find some other dividers. Thanks for the vid. what a well loved bag!
Happy you scored one in good condition, I'm kinda kicking myself for not buying a second one a few years ago when they frequently appeared on Ebay. I for sure recommend stealing the dividers from another camera bag to shore up the paddling, its really one of the only low quality aspects that leaves you wanting something more robust. Hope you get as many years out of yours as I have mine! Still using it weekly :))
I have a Domke canvas bag that I use to this day. I bought it in 2002 it is over 20 years old. It has been around the world, with hundreds of protests. Rain, snow, heat etc...Never had it in for any repairs. the bag holds 2 bodies, 3-4 lens cords cables crap. and a sleeve for notebook. I'm glad you like your bag.
That is some pretty incredible usage, have to respect a product like that! I’ve never seen a Domke backpack, just shoulder bags. Do they make one? I would definitely be interested in checking it out!
@@HiImNathanthey just came out with a backpack but I disagree maybe the old domke stuff was made better but I went through a F2 with daily use for three years (re waxing and everything) and the bag is in taters switched it out for a filson original briefcase with a camera insert last year definitely a better quality bag

Great video
Really loved the enthusiasm and passion
Audio could be a bit louder but overall, I really liked it!

@@jamiegetslost That sounds like a great solution! What insert are you using? I'm wondering if my next Filson bag setup will involve an insert too.
I have 2, one in tan and another in otter-green...excelent bags.
From the status of your bag and the narrative, It seems it deserved a better owner...
Thanks for watching the video and for the comment. I used my bag almost everyday for many years, it’s what true love looks like!

...I still am left with the feeling that the bag loves you more then the other way around!!!
