Finally someone who shows a good sourdough tutorial wich is very EASY to repeat! Bravo! So many tutorials on RUclips about sourdough make it a VERY complicated thing with lots of "do" and "don't"! Dear viewer, don't be afraid to try to make your own sourdough starter! Eat real and healthy bread! It is NOT complicated and sooo much better then all these industrial "bread" imitations with lots of unnatural adds in it! Thank you Kitty for the humor, the energie, the big smile in your videos! I finally made a starter, but I don't know what the fermentation smell should be, it seems to smell like a beer, and just a wee bit of liquid. I added the last addition of water and flour. Have my fingers twisted around for tomorrow for the s.d. loaf. I make yeast bread, but am looking forward to something different.

In case you want to skip the vid and just get the starter recipe, here it is! 1tbsp apple skin (grated) 2tbsp bread flour 2tbsp warm water Mix in a jar, pop lid ontop and leave for 4 days then feed with another 2tbsp water and 2tbsp flour. Use the next day or pop it in the fridge! Watch end of vid to listen to me babble about starter maintenance 😉💗

I married a baker and all I can think watching your video is, give me the half of your smile. We have a wood oven. We make sourdough bread of course, but not this fruit style. For the last 5 years, I make on daily basis feta pies, croissants, bougatsa with semolina custard and biscuits. Cakes and easter breads when is needed. It´s a nice job, tiring because of the time we get up (3 am), but rewarding. The most difficult part is the people we are selling to! Ha ha! Anyway, our bakery is since 1955!

Thank you for the super clear and easy starter explanation at the end! I'll be starting as a student baker in may and after watching some video's about sourdough starters i got so overwhelmed with the feeding and measuring. I'll be trying this at home very soon!

When folding croissants, I think there’s a beauty in rolling it maybe it’s because of how the shape looks or just knowing that the layers will rise & become extra flaky 🤷🏻♀️ but it is absolutely delish!

The reference to communist countries is very realistic and I find it quite funny today! A bit more than 35 years ago we really waited in loooong lines to get what we needed! (Eastern Germany before 1989) Was less funny at these times...
