- I recorded this video of Judy Van Zant, the widow of Ronnie Van Zant, delivering a powerful, heartfelt speech during the unveiling of the Lynyrd Skynyrd Memorial on October 20, 2019, in Gillsburg, Mississippi.
Chilling video of Man standing by the pine, had to watch it again and again.
Sure would have loved to been there that day.

The guy standing under the American flag, next to the tree, resembles Ronnie, to me. He really caught my eye, with the hat.

Yes, he resembles...but seriously can you imagine he didn't even clap when Judy introduced Ronnie's daughter, grandkids- or Steve's daughter...odd.

When that sob hit Judy, while she was speaking, it hit me, too; and, when she said, I came here once in 1977 to bring Ronnie home, I had pure tears. Judy often gets a bad rap, it seems; but, one thing is certain, she loved Ronnie Van Zant.

So surreal. Does anybody out there know where Tammy was?? She is firstborn daughter of Ronnie and Nadine, and she just loved her Daddy. Sadly- I'm leaning towards Judy and her kids don't like to include her maybe because after all, she's an heir too?

Thanks to God and this band I'm a rock musician, I've got my band created in one small rural town just like west Jacksonville.
west jacksonville isn't really rural. they practiced out in green cove springs where the hell house was and they refined their sound. good little hike to get there but Ronnie as a youth lived in Shantytown which is a pretty rough part of town. it's as urban as anything urban you can picture in your mind.
Are all them coming back ths month to gillsburg Mississippi
