    Beautiful content here coming from someone who has been selected for several government interviews. Keep in mind, the interviewers WILL ask you to elaborate on these suggested responses by providing specific examples/scenario's you experienced with your current or past employers, ESPECIALLY for situational questions. It is important that your experience example/scenario response you provide supports the generalized response you provided to the original question. Also keep in mind, once you land that government job, you will be subject to the same interview questions when trying to promote to a higher position with more responsibility. Thanks for this Richard!

But I will say I hate the waiting game. I did follow up with a thank you email,. but they typically do not reply. Any idea when I might hear something either way? IF they plan on bringing on someone new on the 1st and a background check would still need to be done.

    Hi Richard one of the key performance areas is: Financial administration of the office ( budget tracking stationery orders) what can i expect from this question

    • @CareerVidz
      @CareerVidz  4 месяца назад

      You can expect questions about your experience with budget management, your approach to tracking office expenses, and your proficiency in ordering and managing office supplies efficiently. The interviewer might ask for specific examples of how you've optimised budget allocations or streamlined the ordering process in previous roles. They may also inquire about your strategies for cost-saving and ensuring the office operates within its financial means. I hope this helps!

    • @leeklass3907
      @leeklass3907 2 года назад

      Recognition in some government departments might be a favourable letter or email on the service they recieved from somone internal or external to the employer if they believe what you have done is above and beyond your work . Some employers have voucher or cash awards if you are nominated by someone that is an employee of the the same governent organisation you work for . Your manager could nominate you for the way you carried out a task. I always make a note these down and mention these in quarterley appriaal review meetings . Your manager might say in your quarterly review meeting their opiinion of your work based on audits .

    • @Chloholio
      @Chloholio 3 месяца назад

      @@funnzypink @CareerVidz it was for an entry level engineering position with a federal agency. They asked about different ASTM lab tests, software abilities, and fundamental concepts relevant to the speciality (some of which were asked about in a questionnaire I had to fill out on usajobs prior to submitting my application, so definitely take notes if that’s something you have to do). They also asked about my experience and style working on teams and previous work experience. This video inspired some of the questions I had for the interviewers though, like about how the agency considers vulnerable populations, ecological protection and climate change in their designs. The questions lead to a really interesting 30 minute convo with the interviewers and I think that helped me land the job offer! Always important to do your research prior to applying and interviewing. Not only to land the position, but to ensure it aligns with your values as well!

    For the British Civil Service this advice is not correct. The tell me about yourself question is a ice breaker question to help put the candidate at ease so that the interview panel get to learn about the candidate by finding they have something in common with or any curiosity question the panel have about the response. You are not scorred on this question . If you follow Richard's advice you will repeat the behaviours and strengths in the job advert which is not what the interview panel are looking for in this question. Yes will be asked asked about the strengths and behaviours use the attached literature to gain understanding of the behaiours and the what and its defined at each job grade . You can use use examples outside work as well as work for your examples. Remember to use the star approach for behaviours. There is a current civil Servant I would suggest you look at their content. Richard where did you get this information from? I mean the source of information not you list of the highest scoring answers.
