Tonally very similar. Keep in mind that the Soldano components are better quality I've had my T100C refurbished by Trace Davis at Voodoo Amps. Swapped all of the major components. I ended up with a fatter drive channel and a useable clean channel. If you go to Voodoo Amps website, verify your Voodoo, and enter 10267, you'll see what he did. It stopped one guy dead in his tracks.
When Mike Soldano built this amp, it was circa '87. No one was beating on a 7-string guitar, tuned to the key of rotting flesh. It's not the style of music I'm criticizing, it's the fact that you didn't even TRY to play the style of music associated with what put this amp on the map in the first place. Stevie Ray Vaughn was having one of these guilt for him, for that matter. The biggest irony of all is that, if this is the kind of music someone wants to play, buy a Diezel, or 6505+. Or...buy a Fender, and any one of the 500 pedals that cater to this audience. That, or at minimum put something in the title that tells us you're catering to "rivet-heads only".
The T50 has the lows but more presence. Soldano has more beef. Both kick ass...I have a T50 and it's an incredible amp except the clean channel is crap. But for $150 you can't beat it.
Millitant Guitars -Killin it, dude!
T 50 is an eq pedal adjustment away from being indistinguishable.
What modification is made to the Yamaha amp in TubeTone? Thanks.

The Yamaha sounded a tad fizzier/staticier than the genuine article, but it comes pretty damn close!!
Forget the amps.....that first dude is good!
Yamaha seems just SLIGHTLY darker but still pretty similar
Can't believe it is that similar.
i like the soldando etter for some stuff
I like both
Эта гитара... она просто потрясающая.

Danm! your a good player!!
nice caparison!
With the Caparison the Soldano sounded cool, but with the Explorer the Yamaha sounded better with it.

because it is a bit smoother on the highs but both together are the shit XD
чего так неровно?
The Yamaha isn't bad at all, better than many amps, but the Soldano is a little more present and articulate. Soldano FTW.
Магнитные бури.
Yamaha на raining blood хороша
The Yamaha is a bit reminiscent of a 5150.
They are less fizzy than a 5150 -and tighter. Well maybe not when compared to the old block letter 5150...
Plugins, sims, impulses,it all sound good, but raw amps do not sound like that.
Soldano
классно! но солдано как всегда по мутнее и по жирнее... самое классное что еще и на другой гитаре сыграно так на много очевиднее сравнение становится!
Yamaha
Эксплорер что то и в солдану и в ямаху пердит.
soldano is thicker!!!!
The Soldano is darker for sure.
