The feeling of destroying the capacity for inward peace, an insane dance
with the angels of innocence admist thorns and in frenzy, the warmth of
a divine blessing, a daringness which prevailed over any imaginable fear
hovering on the brink of a voluntary act of contrition, but soon all pales
besides the cry this shattering truth wrests from all fellow men, there is
more to it than suffering and sounds of suffering, it is a process that only
the extinction of a divine sould could terminate. The eye can outstare neither
the sun, nor death... if I sought God it was in delirium and in the delight of
temptation.
The idea of Salvation comes, I believe, from the one whom suffering breaks
apart. He who masters it, on the contrary, needs to be broken, to proceed
on the path towards the rupture.
Nothing of what man can know, to this end, could be evaded without
degradation, without sin, - is it no burden to bear the repellent scars of
abandon, of election? - it leaves but a state of supplication and deserted
expanses, an absorption into despair. The existence of things cannot enclose
the death which it brings to me; the existence is itself projected into my
death, and it is my death which encloses it. Am I deranged? Over and above
quietism! Nurtured by the multitude of man's misfortunes, a thousand halos
like torches in the night of the spirit, a thousand traps, pitfalls of brimstone
and the empty sky, prostrated face against the earth in frantic laughter...
I was beyond withstanding my own ignominy. I invoked it and blessed it.
I progressed even further into vileness and degradation. Am I resurging,
intact, out of infamy?
Your going down the rabbit hole now my friend. Keep going
Yes!!!
That snare tone is amazing
The greatest BM band to ever walk the earth. Blut Aus Nord is close too..
one of my all time favorite band and albums in metal, always blown away again. the lyrics (borrowed from georges bataille) are incredible too! but FAS is very hard to get into, especially as the first step into the DSO world. maybe paracletus or Kenose would be better starting points for you
DSO.... utterly bonkers French dudes...
Something from Paracletus up next? Would be amazing.
This
I found the spell from Morrowind again
Its all about Shrine of Mad Laughter
amazing song, though I love the rest of the album too
Shrine is amazing but A Chore For The Lost is the best imo. Absolutely insane ending to the song
yeah you should listen to it again
The greatest troll band in the world. Everything they do is designed to take the piss out of everything, from people's understanding of political ideology, to music theory itself! My favourite part is definitely when they come out in an interview as "fascist", then release an album full of left wing ideals, even going as far as trolling political events in 2019, "we shall burn and not explain" just like they did in Portland and other places during the GF riots... And nobody even realises what they're doing!!! 🤣🤣🤣
If you want to judge them holistically, you should try listening first to their more accessible tracks - Abscission (most accessible), Wings of Predation, Apokostasis Panton, Jubilate Deo, Sola Fide I. Fas is probably the least accessible of their albums and maybe not the right introduction to this band's repertoire. Also, there are certain bands (very few) that demand a few listens before you can unlock their "groove" and this band is probably one of them, others being Gorguts, Ulcerate who play in a similar vein. In fact, what I would recommend is to listen to their album Paracletus start to finish in one sitting, and it will take you through various dark emotions - evil, despair, depression, sadness - at times all in one song. But yeah if it's not your thing, it's not your thing, that's all there is to it.
Very Prog inspired metal tune i think.....that's why it sounds so confused??
Drums were insanely good..vocals were also good...so good song!
Paracletus is where I started and it hooked me.
React to The death metal version of DSO ....ULCERATE
you should check out paracletus album by them. i think fas maledicti is too rough also, chaos over the top and takes many listens to figure out what is going on. paracletus is similar to fas maledicti but more melodic and easier structure of songs to digest :D
Paracletus is the absolute bollocks. And I don't even like black metal that much.
Paracletus is definitely the more accessible release.
One of the most evil sounding albums ever
One of the best black metal songs ever made in my opinion. ✌️✌️🤘🤘
Its about time you heard them !
EXCELENTE TEMA DE UNA EXCELENTE BANDA DEL GÉNERO
A bit over the top I think. Very confusing for me to realise there's metal that I don't understand through its chaos. Perhaps after listening a few times that I would be able to like it.
When you unlock the chaos you will find order and when you find order you will find it is quite the opposite of over the top, instead just sheer madness, all calculated and methodical. And then you will be able to focus on the parts that will really throw you into despair and then once you are in that territory, you will find every other music out there crap. Personal experience.
Over the top? Are you implying that limits should be placed on artistic expression?
You think this album is going over the deep end, wait until you hear The Synarchy of Molten Bones
@@nirmalvarma3386 this has been my exact experience since discovering DsO a year ago
@@hazardousjazzgasm129 Fas is much more complicated compared to Synarchy. No question. Both are great albums though.
Wow haha good stuff Ruben you are nice dude keep it going.
Should start from paracletus album not Fas I think
As a fan of ghost I think you should check out Luna in the sky forever by cvlt ov the svn. Really evil poppy metal song.
Gorguts influenced blackmetal?
Absolutely!
Actually Luc got inspired a lot by Deathspell Omega.
Wouldn't be surprised if both bands are fans of each other. Ex-drummer of Gorguts John Longstreth's favorite drummer is DsO's
@@impavidvs_ DsO also got influenced by Gorguts, as stated in their Cult Never Dies interview: "The dissonance and the energy that can be found in a record such as King Crimson’s Red, in a piece like Magma’s De Futura or in Gorguts’ Obscura were consciously referred to on The Synarchy of Molten Bones [2016]. Having Luc Lemay [of Gorguts] play an instrumental rough mix of the excellent Pleiades’ Dust [EP release from the same year] for me in Montréal and briefly discussing music at a moment where I still was in the process of re-writing The Synarchy of Molten Bones probably had an impact. Anyway, that’s our internal chronology when it comes to dissonance.” Both bands admire one another and have respect for the music.
HELLO Ruben...😀
Excellent Gardenian album. But if you really want to hear something really good to hear "Dawn of solace; lead of wings".
Sorry Deathspell Omega album.
