This works guys. I got mine in the mail yesterday and tried it this morning. Took me a minute to figure it out but I got it! I have a 2024 honda prologue touring. Thanks for this helpful video.
Welp, well I guess we've answered that question; does the Prologue count as a GM vehicle? - Yup. Supercharger access for Prologues and other GM vehicles is such a huge deal. There's a lot of freedom in not having to completely rely on Electrify America and EVgo. Congrats!
I confirmed this on my own Prologue yesterday. I was at 32% and was getting 130-145kwh. I went from 32 to 50% in about 8 minutes. I used the A2Z Typhoon Pro Adapter but I have purchased the official Tesla adapter from an eBay user.
Note: the Tesla app now includes Honda Prologue as one of the vehicle choices and it sets up exactly the same as the Chevy Blazer. But I *HAVE NOT* tried it yet.
Just bought a Honda Prologue and I’m glad to see that my car can be charged at a Tesla supercharge station. I’m hoping that Honda will comp us this adapter like Ford did!
GM owners aren’t getting a free one. You have to buy it. And, unfortunately, since you technically shouldn’t have access because the Prologue is a Honda with GM components, the only way to get an adapter is to use one you got from owning a ford or a Rivian, or buy an aftermarket adapter. You will most definitely not be given one.
This is VERY helpful! Thank you for sharing! Is there any way to get the Google Maps integration to show the Tesla chargers on the route planner? I checked a box in the payment methods setting for Tesla but it doesn't seem to show them.
WOW, such a bonus that Honda Prologue can be charged on the Tesla Supercharger Network. I hadn't even thought about the Hondas when GM announced Supercharger access. I received my adapter from GM and tested my '23 Bolt EUV using both the Tesla app and the My Chevy app, both worked great!!!! PS: My wife called me weird because I went out at 10pm on the day i received my adapter to test the Supercharger, I have to admit that it was a bit "EV Geeky".
I guess this is one of the additional benefits of Honda partnering with GM for their Ultium platform. I hope they provide official Acura/Honda support. I can't think why Tesla wouldn't, but then again, I'm not sure why it's taking them this long in general (European Superchargers were opened to everyone in less then a year when Tesla was threatened with losing funding and subsidies as a public charging provider).
It’s a very nice perk to piggy back with GM for supercharger access. I believe the incentives are a determining factor in the US as well. Great points, much appreciated
@@Aslash304 Thanks! I'm looking forward to seeing more about the Prologue in action. Much like you out in WV, we have some pretty bad charging deserts here in California, so V3 access is opening a couple of corridors that required L2 AC charging to access just a week ago.
Regardless of the charging speed, access to the best and most ubiquitous network is stress relieving. Ford and Rivian can simply plug and charge. Is this not possible with GM/Honda EVs?
This Honda works simply because it's based on GM Ultimum battery platform and is built by GM with Honda design touches. In fact this is the only Honda EV on sale. Acura sells the same EV under its own brand and should be able to charge at the SC. No other brand, except for Ford, Rivian, and GM (and GM built) Honda, can use the SC yet.
Brian Drives a Rivian, which is also able to use superchargers. Hyundai/Genesis doesn’t have access yet. GM was granted access this week. Since the Supercharger is a handshake, the car you say you are in has to be a true statement. The Prologue is essentially a Blazer EV with Honda appointments, the Supercharger recognizes that it has the GM architecture. Won’t be long for Hyundai/Kia/Genesis, as the 2025 Ioniq 5 will have the native port.
Hyundai/Genesis/Kia are only weeks away from gaining access. Keep in mind, your Genesis 800v system will charge slower on the current Superchargers running on 400v. I'd only use Superchargers as a backup until the higher voltage V4s are online. That might take a little time to be widespread
Has anyone tried the official GM adapter on a Prologue, or even just handled one to see how the build quality compares to other brands, e.g. Lectron, etc. I need to buy some version of this adapter and after hearing all the stories, I only want to "buy it once, buy it right" as the saying goes ...
