Let's be honest. The opiod crisis was never about oxycontin it was fentanyl all along. There are far more people overdosing now than when oxy was easy to get.
People died from overdoses before Fentanyl. Purdue misled doctors, customers, etc. by saying that Oxycontin was not addictive. Although Fentanyl is worse, Oxycontin alone has killed people and destroyed families.
The under-reaction was allowing oxy to be sold like bottled water. The over-reaction was cutting it off almost completely. Make the addicts and then turn off the spigot. Addicts will find a way or die trying.

They were all too willing to give me pain meds. They did not push it, as this case is about, but they made it clear if you are in pain... here you go. Part of the Fentynal crisis is because of doctors not filling pain meds regardless of your condition. People went to heroin then Fentynal. Issue happening now is that pharmacy's won't till opioid scripts with no regard to the patients health care with thier doctor. It's hard to watch a chronic pain person go through this.
It's hard to BE a chronic pain patient during all this. The hoops we have to jump through just to get medication that helps us get through our days somewhat comfortable, is insane. What most people don't realize is there IS a point at which these meds no longer give that "high", but they still control pain. Frankly, these decisions should be made between doc and patient. My biggest problem has always been insurance pharmacists. Know and believe docs have massive hoops to jump through, too. I don't know what the answer to all this is, I wish I did. I don't understand why when anyone is in the hospital & given med for pain, then why isn't it the docs responsibility to titrate the med prior to being discharged? If pain meds needs to be continued when @ home, then why stop the med @ once? During the follow up visit with the doc, why not start to titrate it. This perhaps this will help block the body from craving the med.. I'm not saying that some people don't have a addictive personality. This person needs something to deal with life in general. I can't decide how I feel about our Supreme Court right now , I know I don't like Roberts. 5 -4? Really? Kavanugh, Roberts, Sotomayer, and Kagan all think it is OK for people to be able to use our civil side of justice to shield themselves from personal and potential criminal accountability? I do like the majority seem to focus on separation of powers and who is supposed to be responsible . They continue to set guardrails that constrain one branch of GOVT from overstepping its authority. The owners of companies and their boards (potentially) have a duty to cause no harm. And if they do - they need to be face charges. Bankruptcy courts can't be used to construct deals where some parties who refuse to accept terms are ignored. This is a loophole being used and CONGRESS needs to plug it. (I still get so angry when these loopholes come to light. There are so many attorneys in the HALLs of CONGRESS! WHY of WHY is there so much sloppy construction of laws?!) When people die, that falls inside both civil and criminal side of justice and no one should be able to legally construct a civil corporate settlement that bars potential personal civil liability or criminal prosecution.
What is the point of starting a company if you can be held personally liable for business decisions by the company. It is the whole point of being a company rather than an individual.

There is no such thing as an opioid victim if the person overdoses they were doing it for recreation and new the risk and died so there is no one to compensate. Families do not get get to claim a family member that has a heart attack and sue the coffee maker this is for the lawyers and people wanting cash there is no victim here.
Coffee is hot. It might burn you.
WHY of WHY is there so much sloppy construction of laws?!)
When people die, that falls inside both civil and criminal side of justice and no one should be able to legally construct a civil corporate settlement that bars potential personal civil liability or criminal prosecution.
What is the point of starting a company if you can be held personally liable for business decisions by the company. It is the whole point of being a company rather than an individual.
When the company is the name of the owner it's all the same thing
@@gabereal420 Their company is Purdue Pharmaceutical. It was not in their individual names.
Why aren't the doctors, hospitals, pain clinics being sued?
The FDA approved it for pain management.
Why aren't all the drug dealers being rounded up and sued too?
My mothers is dead 2011 from opana
Why do these decisions happen on the election debate day?! They’ve had plenty of time to decide beforehand. Kick it down the road as usual?!! Disgusting.
learn basic civics, you sound really dumb.
What does that have to do with the debate??? Someone sounds scared of abortion
Politics means.....anything can be legal, if theres money in it....
So you mean I can sue Jack Daniels because I'm an alcoholic?
How come you do not support the Supreme Court?
Exactly
Yes if the owner hid that it was addictive and life threatening. But we know you really like the taste of leather.
@@danharps7874omg that's so clever . Wow
If they wrap it in a "coating" and a doctor tells you it is "not addictive", yes, you can. You'll lose though. Sacklers have waaaaaaay more money than you. You'll still be an alcoholic but that would be a YOU problem. MAGA!

If you're a third grade teacher. Please reach out to some of these MAGA supporters who don't have a clue about world history. Explain the Three branches of government. Tell them what the Stars and stripes mean on the flag. Explain how past history can repeat itself and affect the present. Thank you for stepping up. 👍👍👍

Please worship the CREATOR OF THE UNIVERSE, THE LORD GOD and try not to worry too much about the differences between the different religions and denominations, try to think about the similarities and the things they may have in common more than the differences. Daily prayer is a fundamental part that many people do not practice although it is encouraged
"CREATOR OF THE UNIVERSE, LORD GOD, I beg you to never force me to worship any false god or object and I ask you for forgiveness for my sins and immorality. Thank you for everything. Amen."
Please pray this now, pray the words as you read them if you cannot look and remember them 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
