I am thinking of this. But not able to do . I am thinking that let go 10k for better future. But the education they are getting is not upto the mark . Let see this is 1 st year of my both daughter 1st and nursery and approx feees for each is 70 k annually additional charges for book and all. Which might go to 1lakh each . What if I invest this money in personal teacher and sent them to municipal school. My taught but I do think environment matters.

Despite his PhD from Imperial Colleg, London, caste politics ensured that he retired as a Class II officer. Father is a retired brigadier from the time when Army officers' retirement corpus was 30 lakh from DSOP. He had to work till age 68 to save enough for retirement. I work in IT. I am 49 and jobs are drying up for IT professionals in their fifties. Very few companies want to hire us, and very few companies offer salaries commensurate with our experience. Me and my sister both have studied in Kendriya Vidyalayas even though my parants could have afford a private school. Best financial decision they ever took. Helped them built a huge home, and we both are earning well now (6 digit salaries).

Another point is mad exploitation by corporates. People are forced to work round the clock, even on weekends, and not given any family time. A single person is doing the job of two people and taking just half the salary. So with a salary of x, corporates are getting equivalent of 4x work.

At least in Delhi there are cheaper as well as expensive schools. In Hyderabad complete nonsense is happening. All new and expensive schools. They are not even close to home. Children are travelling a lot and coming home at 3:30-4:00 or sometimes 4:30. Home schooling or forming groups to teach society students is a good idea.
We have put our elder son in Kendriya Vidyalaya, the standard of education is worst but less fees. Our other two children couldn't come in the on-line admission short list procedure so forced to put in private schools which are close to home. Though it is ₹43,000 annually and for the other in Sr. kg, it is ₹17500, but teaching is good. In Kendriya Vidyalaya, not even basic amenities like fan for students are not there. In a city like Chennai, it is exasperating
Yes valid points which no one thinks about - today schools charge more than 1L and still we need to pay for coaching classes which charge their own 1L plus so eventually this is a huge expense item on Middle Class which no one thinks about.

For social aspect, we can make our kids join sports ( this will also give them the time and encourage them to play sports). They can make friends there.
I feel somehow the children are too pressured to study ( both in school and in tuition). They hardly are encouraged to do enough physical activity in a normal week. We as parents need to encourage playing too as it's very important for their overall development.

We formed an association to fight against unjustified school fee increase. Contributed Rs 500each , hired a lawyer. Stopped paying the fee. The matter is still in Delhi High Court. Now my daughter has passed school could not stop her from studies, giving exam and gave marksheet etc. You & your child had to be strong and United parents can fight the school money making system.
My kid is in 2nd grade and iam paying 2L+ . Iam a middle class working professional in a pvt company. But with this rate, however my salary increases, it will go to such expenses without any value for money
He is not lying. Fee is high in metro cities at least. Fee including bus fee comes to 1.5 - 2 lakhs for schools with qualified faculty, which follow safety norms. When you talk about fee, you should consider everything, including uniform, books, bus etc.
I am a BJP VOTER for last many years and I was a great supporter of Vajpayee(though was not able to vote for him) and thought Modi will surpass him. But if I introspect Modi govt, which is run by disconnected bureaucrats, it has only increase taxes and did nothing valuable for tax payers or middle class. But public should question what extra are they getting for the extra premium they paying to schools. Event the salaries of pvt teachers doesn't increase in the same proportion they rob us silently.

Another point is mad exploitation by corporates. People are forced to work round the clock, even on weekends, and not given any family time. A single person is doing the job of two people and taking just half the salary. So with a salary of x, corporates are getting equivalent of 4x work.
People who can migrate overseas, even to countries like Thailand, the UAE and Canada, should do so. We are second-class citizens in India, might as well be second-class citizens in a country where our skills are respected

At least in Delhi there are cheaper as well as expensive schools. In Hyderabad complete nonsense is happening. All new and expensive schools. They are not even close to home. Children are travelling a lot and coming home at 3:30-4:00 or sometimes 4:30.

We have put our elder son in Kendriya Vidyalaya, the standard of education is worst but less fees. Our other two children couldn't come in the on-line admission short list procedure so forced to put in private schools which are close to home. Though it is ₹43,000 annually and for the other in Sr. kg, it is ₹17500, but teaching is good. In Kendriya Vidyalaya, not even basic amenities like fan for students are not there. In a city like Chennai, it is exasperating
Yes valid points which no one thinks about - today schools charge more than 1L and still we need to pay for coaching classes which charge their own 1L plus so eventually this is a huge expense item on Middle Class which no one thinks about.

Home schooling mein phir interaction kaise hoga same age group se? We learn from Classmates too.
For social aspect, we can make our kids join sports ( this will also give them the time and encourage them to play sports). They can make friends there.
I feel somehow the children are too pressured to study ( both in school and in tuition). They hardly are encouraged to do enough physical activity in a normal week. We as parents need to encourage playing too as it's very important for their overall development.

We formed an association to fight against unjustified school fee increase. Contributed Rs 500each , hired a lawyer. Stopped paying the fee. The matter is still in Delhi High Court. Now my daughter has passed school could not stop her from studies, giving exam and gave marksheet etc. You & your child had to be strong and United parents can fight the school money making system.

He is not lying. Fee is high in metro cities at least. Fee including bus fee comes to 1.5 - 2 lakhs for schools with qualified faculty, which follow safety norms. When you talk about fee, you should consider everything, including uniform, books, bus etc.
I am a BJP VOTER for last many years and I was a great supporter of Vajpayee(though was not able to vote for him) and thought Modi will surpass him. But if I introspect Modi govt, which is run by disconnected bureaucrats, it has only increase taxes and did nothing valuable for tax payers or middle class. They increased import duties and raised taxes everywhere. And yesterday clueless financed secretary wants to increase more taxes and have no shame comparing Indian taxes with European ones. This shows how cruel and disconnected they are. They are not able to bring more people under tax base. And neither able to control freebies by inefficient state govts like Karnataka and Kerala.I hope Modi will act and revert bad tax burden on normal people and try to modernise economy. True, ye sab issues hain and need to be resolved soon. Middle class needs to escape from these traps. Elite and expensive schools ek status symbol ho gaye hain, education toh wahi rotten diya ja rahe har school mein. But, hamara education system abhi mature nahin hua hai, open schooling and distance education ko systematically degrade kar diya gaya hai, these grades and degrees have been made ineligible for most higher studies or posts. Education system mein revolution to chahiye. Or else newer middle class to India leave karne ko ready hai, har samajhdar muddle class wala apne level par try kar raha hai bahar jaane ke liye.
