    Fall hikes, some of the best. This video is exactly what we like to do on our travels. Used your Mittenwald and Salzburg videos to plan and enjoy our visit to Germany in August for 3 weeks. Hey, we used most of your playlist from Bavaria! Keep up the excellent content and you do deserve to have at least 100K subscribers or more.

    Cool castle. Strange, I didn't know about it. Since I'm also living in Munich for 5 years and hike pretty often. I can suggest you another magical place: Ahornboden. This is in Tirol Austria, but it is just 150km from Munich. Now it is a bit too late to go there. Usually people visit it in mid of October.

    Really enjoyed that video. I lived in Waltrudering (East of Munich) as a kid in 1970-75. I remember early Fall hikes were my favorites and now I really enjoy the area around Schliersee followed by a nice slice of Prinzregenten Torte. Really miss Bavaria. How are you finding the cost of living in Munich after five years? Seems rents are just skyrocketing. Schöne Grüße aus Texas.

It’s so beautiful in that area and there’s so much to do! We learned some great lessons about travel and suitcases! And yes, the train system is amazing and really so easy to use. Great vid, especially the: bunny, CATS, cute little smooching, beautiful pastures and houses, etc. I really appreciate the walking map of your hiking route, and tips about the fork, steepness, landmarks off in the distance and such. However, I do ask again for a simple, quick "map" or Birds Eye "path" of Munich to Flintsbach (ideally around the 1:30 mark) just so that i can look in the right area of Bavaria and follow along; I assumed it was due south of Munich, near Mittenwald for example, before i finally gave up and actually typed "Flintsbach" into the search field, such a bother! ;) Thanks as always!

    I absolutely love that you do Videos on places no other blogger would dare to go. Even as a resident of Upper Bavaria and beeing a born Regensburger your videos always have something in them, like a Café, a castle etc I haven't known of before. As you said in one of your vids, if you go wide, you can't go deep. What does it matter that you are only a relatively small channel. Let the City hoppers and 5-countries-in-two-days-travellers watch the other channels. The people who are interested in the stuff you show will enjoy watching your channel even more so.

Hm, I would be surprised if it were even better than the one from Winklstüberl in Fischbachau (especially the Bayerische Vanilletorte 😋). • @NearFromHome
      @NearFromHome  Год назад

      Well…..I’ve got bad news…..if what you are calling the commercial ad voice is what I think it is then this video was already a serious attempt to meter and use it less than we usually do. If this didn’t do it for you, then idk man I’m giving it all I’ve got. We are constantly striving to improve video after video, but the time and effort to reward ratio is pretty damn low, lol. The perspective I come from though too is that ultimately, this isn’t a vlog, this isn’t just us chilling and going on a trip together. This is me being a guide, including logistics, and walking you through everything you need to know to go on a better vacation. It’s less entertainment-y than a lot of other channels, but to me that’s our differentiator. Frankly, 90% of the travel channels out there don’t give a damn about you the audience or your future travel plans. They want a more, easy, come with us and let’s see what happens approach. Focussing on “their” trips and “their” experiences. Which is fine, no hate, it just isn’t at all what I’m interested in doing. I don’t view this channel as “about” me so much as that I am a conduit to share the knowledge gained from our experiences. Emphasising knowledge over raw experience. Is it possible to do both at the same time? To entertain purely while also educating? I’m not sure. This video tried to do that. But ultimately I’m reticent to give up the presenter style completely because like I said, I view that as one of the things that makes us a little different than most of the faffing about on holiday travel channels. -- if you are referencing my level of enthusiasm though, that’s genuine and literally can’t be removed. I am that insufferable all the time, lol.

    • @Zibutegerard
      @Zibutegerard Год назад

      I love how detailed your vlogs are and appreciate all that went into it. I'm trying to be nice and say yes it's the enthusiasm that comes off as a sales pitch. For folks chilling at home it's a bit much. I really like your channel. We went to Monteriggioni bc of your video and were looking for the rest of your walking tour. @@NearFromHome

    • @NearFromHome
      @NearFromHome  Год назад

      Ah damn. I thought you meant something else. Nothing I can do about the enthusiasm though, that very well might be the most genuine part of the whole video. The least scripted or rehearsed. Which in a way, it is a sales pitch after all. I don’t film duds, if a trip is worth going on then the video gets edited and released. We’ve shot plenty of videos that will never see the light of day because I just didn’t believe they were worth anyone’s previous time. If I release it, it’s because I enthusiastically believe you should go.
