You won't believe your eyes! Cookie and I potty in a litter-box on command! Mommy made this video really cute and adorable with fun music. In this video, you will see Pumpkin and Cookie going in our box for the FIRST time, caught on camera! This is a must see!
To this day, we still go potty in our corner and MOST of the time we also do the raisins. We have this in our barn simply to make clean-up easier from when we are closed in at night. However during the day, we have 2 acres to roam, so it's not like we are going to run across the pasture to go in our corner! So, we don't have to go in there if we don't want to, which means we don't always do so.
Read some tips on potty training on our website! But please remember to never expect perfection from goats and always use positive reinforcement ONLY!

We are Nigerian Dwarf goats who love showing off our love for life and the awesome things we can do. We are out to prove how wonderful goats are! We are also Therapy Animals. My mommy battles Multiple Sclerosis, Lyme Disease, Traumatic Brain Injury and Chemical Injury. So, we have a special purpose. We give her tons of hugs and kisses every day to bring some smiles and joy into her life.
People are always shocked to hear mommy and daddy have goats. They exclaim, "You have GOATS??" as if it is so strange! So, Mommy takes pictures and videos of us to share our lives and shenanigans with the world! She is determined to make us famous so we can let everyone know that "Goats are loving, smart and super FUN!"
Last, but not least, we are the stars of the brand new book, The Adventures of Pumpkin and Cookie: Cookie Doesn't Want to Be a Goat. See more information about the book on our website! Pumpkin and Cookie are my babies! I am not sure if you are saying that because you think we raise goats for anything else but loving pets, but rest assured we don't. We do everything we can to provide them an amazing, loving, healthy life! I would protect them with my life. They are my children.
We LOVE our litter corner! We potty in it every night when we go to bed in the barn. Because we are used to just going everywhere on the pasture during they day, sometimes we do miss the litter corner with the raisins. Oops!

Keeping my 4 week old female dwarf inside and with harness, taking out on leash, but love the box and hay idea, going to def give it a try. Thanks for the great idea. She hangs out with my 3 pugs indoors and helps with chickens outside. So she has a herd of her own. Ellie Mae is settling in nicely.
4 weeks? Tiny! So, once she gets stronger, she has a herd outside to go to. Wonderful!

I got it from the RUclips Editor, which no longer exists. I think it is called Party Girl, but I don't know who sang it. It was probably just stock music made for soundtracks.

Since they run around the corral and pasture all day, they get used to going whenever and wherever. But when they are in the barn at night, they are still good at pottying in the strawed corner or box. The raisins .... most of the time, but not always.

I like my goats to pee and poop anywhere they go. They are happy to do like it and I am happy to see they are happy.
LOL! They can go anywhere, too. But I showed them the box and they went. Now they choose to use it to go potty when they are in their barn. They don't always do the raisins in it. :)

My little 8 week old Nigerian Dwarf potties in her litter box too :) She's going pee in it all the time but getting raisins in is another problem altogether. Any suggestions? Besides patience haha She's learning though!
Ya, we just use the litter box to help with cleanup in the barn. We don't keep them in the house. Whether the raisins end up in the box or not depends on how long they stand there after pottying or if they only have to do the raisins later. :)
@@SillySherriProductions Here's an update, if you care Haha. She now plays outside with the other goats at a small paddock we're renting but always ends up coming back to the house with us and loves playing st the house and snuggling on the bed. She's doing better with raisins in the potty but we're not 100% there yet. I was told it was impossible but I'm learning that anything is possible. Outside she goes as she pleases, inside she always remembers to pee in her box and is learning that she gets Cheerios if raisins make it in. :) I love my little sweetie! She cries if I leave the room without her and defends me from the "evil" cat now lol Now that she's bigger than him haha
@@kamimiller1193 I am so glad she has great friends! Ya I do believe they don't really know they are doing the raisins all the time. I taught them to stop at the steps and go before they go up on the patio, but sometimes they forget or if it is raining or snowing they don't want to stop.

This is so awesome! Do they use the litterbox when you aren't around?
They have a few acres to run around on, so they just go anywhere when they are out grazing, of course. But when they are inside, they use the litter corner most of the time. I am sure they would use it more if they lived in a smaller area and didn't get used to going anywhere. It really helps with cleanup, having most of the potty and raisins in one corner!

From the looks of the ground, they miss the box quite often. But of course that's ok, I'm 62 and pee my pants on occasion also.... Never tried a litter box though. Could you get the hairy legged dude to try that one???? LMBO
In the video, this was the FIRST time I asked them to potty in the box and as you can see, they did! Yes there are raisins on the ground, cuz we had just asked them to go in the box for the first time. After this video, they started going in there on their own. Because they have 2 acres to run around in, they can go wherever they want. But at night in the barn they always potty in the box and 90% of the raisins.

Awwww!!! Thank you! My hubby asked, "Are you really going to put up a video of them going potty?" I said, darn right! They did it the first time I asked them! All I did was follow them around for a couple of weeks saying "go potty" when they went. I had no idea if they would make the connection, but they did the very first time I put them in the box and said it! To me, it was something AMAZING to see and so glad I had it on video! Add some cute music and now I have one of my FAVORITE videos EVER! ADORABLE!

I would have a house goat until they started climbing, breaking, and eating stuff.
Ya, they aren't meant to live in a house. They like to get out, run, climb on things, enjoy the sun and graze. Ours are bored even outside in the Winter, because there isn't much to graze on. I would never keep them locked up in a house.
Do they sometimes drop the raisins at the same time? I thot they really have no control over them.
Usually they potty then do the raisins. They normally don't think about it. The training I did was to associate the word "potty" when they went. Then when I put them in the box and said the word, they went. They still use the straw corner to this day, but because they have a couple acres to walk around on every day, they certainly don't run back to the barn to go. Thus, they get out of the habit of thinking of it. And when they are in the barn, cuz they are not in a habit, sometimes they are lazy and don't walk to the corner just for the raisins.

Yes! But not always cuz they get used to going wherever in the pasture. Most of the raisins and potty make it in the litter corner when they go in the barn at night.

We only did it so that at night they could use it in the barn and it would make it easier for us to clean up. But they go wherever during the day, so they don't have to use it. Can i do it in my house
I have known of some who do it in the house, but they still pick up the raisins often. It is not like training a cat. And, I do not recommend having house goats. They are meant to live outside with a herd, where they can forage for food. Some have done it successfully, but often they are extremely lonely, too active and I have known many who have not been able to handle the changes in temperature going outside, after being warm inside (they got very sick).
