Can't believe i speared this fish! Solo spearfishing and camping on a tropical island. Local fisherman tries to steal my shoes, i give him a fish without knowing what he was doing first.

Welcome to one hobby fishing from Indonesia 🇮🇩🇮🇩🤝🎣🎣🎣
I am in the Army and was stationed in Hawaii I was battling a brutal divorce and self medicating with Alcohol every night to get by. One day my friends came over, helped me clean up my pig-sty of depression and made me go spear fishing with them. I immediately fell in love with it. I stopped drinking and bought all my own gear. Ever weekend I was itching to get in the water. It was so therapeutic being under the water and not hearing all the noise of our working world, both literally and physically. I never harvested more than I wanted for lunch or dinner and always went for a healthy species of fish.
I moved again but kept that mindset of getting out in nature and connecting with it. I have never been religious, but there really is something spiritually connecting about submitting yourself to nature.
May GOD keep blessing u
What a beautiful story !! 💜 Thank you 😊
Nature is my go to for piece of mind. I love mushroom hunting.
@@wamlartmuse that’s incredible! I like going in nature & mushroom hunting too ! What type of mushrooms 🍄 do you look for or like to get ?
@@111LMBL well.. anything & everything that's edible or medicinal. Morel season is coming soon.
Thank you for sharing this video. It reminds me of me and my brother growing up on the island of Guam in the early 70s and early 80s. This true islander living.
Terima kasih bro

ahh yes flounder. it has become my favorite fish. I've had most fresh and saltwater fish and my favorite so far has been flounder and sea trout. white buttery fish absolutely delicious. the ones we catch here are summer flounder i believe. tan and green spots. they are actually hard to filet but you get 4 filets per fish. where they are sideways you go down the middle of their top and bottom and cut in underneath the filet. i catch live shrimp and small mullet as bait but have also caught them on white artificial shrimp too. they actually grab their meal and sit and eat it slowly back on the bottom for about 60 seconds, then you set the hook. they call them door mats around here.
His intentions were to steal. Yet you gave him one of your fish, he’s going to remember that. Respect.
Win with peace ✌🏾😁
What about the Emu’s? They will not accept peace.
L wold give hem the fish
If they could communicate, I would tell him he should have asked and I would have given the shoes. But since he didn’t, no fish
@@SurvivalBeast omg will you marry me!?! Haha jk but goodness, If only people were half as wise as you are this world would be a marvelous and much more friendly place. Sending lots of light and love. Be safe friend! 😍😎✌️
bela pontaria.....pescaria top ...
lugar maravilhoso,
Deus abençoe,
I've had that fish many many times. It is super tasty, super delicious. One of my favorites.
I'm used to calling them flounder, and they are usually the most sought after eating fish in the bays and beaches. They are really delicious stuffed with crab and other good stuff.
Ee
if i could find this fish and a flounder in the same day i would be sooooo stoked!! and if this does happen ill do it for you mate, stuffed flounder crab on the tropical beach hahah yewwww
Anonymous Citizen... We use a gig to catch flounder in the TX/LA mud flats...
Well done. One of your previous followers hit the nail on the head. Rictus, 4 fillets from that one fish. A sharp blade… forget about the bones. 8/10 on my rating.
Another great video man!!!! Thank you..
Feeding the sharks and giving the locals fresh fish even though he was going to 'borrow' your shoes is definitely making peace with the karma gods ;)
Flunder is a clear 9/10.
When you let a tuna steak out of judge, maybe even a 9.5
many bones, sometimes worms.
very tasty
lovely episode, love what you do, best stuff on yt atm
Best fish I ever had was fresh hake in Sweden. I bought it at the covered market in Uppsala. I took it home and pan fried it and it was stunning. It melted like butter in my mouth.

**Garbs a tiny stick to sit on** 😂😂
That guy tryna steal your shoes but you still gave him that fish, what a legend you are!
Love living your adventures with you. How cool, it’s a dream.
From Dallas, TEXAS!
When I lived in Seattle WA, we went fishing & caught whole lot of flounders. Delish!
Great for bringing the Ladys for a cook over !!!
Sometimes bro!
Peacock flounder(left-eyed) is what you speared, when I lived in Alaska we caught halibut, a right eye fish. in the ocean caught a 50 pounder once. it was real hard to clean and process, kind of chewy too.
Super cool video Cavy! Legend for always sharing your adventures! BIG BIG MAHALOS 🤙💪👊👍🎣🎣🎣🎣
I love your videos Dude. I always dreamed of doing things of that nature. God bless you.
I always choose flounder at the seafood restaurant !
Bruh your so humble. I can't help but admire you. Self sustaining in paradise has to be amazing. I found a primitive camping site off of the beach I'm going to do a week of only catching my dinner. #inspirations
what a great episode homie! exciting! you cant be too careful. those legit sea pirates are no joke. this guy wasnt a bad guy really. it was humbling to see you wave him over and give him fish before you knew he was gonna rip your shoes bruh! you are good peeps. the gods favor you. cheers from Philadelphia!
Thanks for the educational response bro. Yeah I didn’t feel any bad energy from the dude.. sometimes I can sense if there’s danger , and usually sneaky enough to avoid conflicts 🥷
Watch your words. Who is the Sea Pirate? You are the Pirate for the Locals. Respect locals, it is their country and their soil.
@@catthypace It's not an insult. Sea Pirates are a legitimate threat. Some ships hire armed security for protection when sailing, and sometimes it ends in shots hailing down on said Pirates. Plenty of videos on youtube.
Never had flounder or sole but i have to say it's made it's way onto my bucket list after reading these comments.
Never would have thought
Dude you have loads of good karma. You are a good person. Gifting a prospective thief a free fish is a beautiful thing. That man will remember you and you likely taught him a valuable lesson...and I like to think you made him a better person that day.
Hi im from Indonesia.. And thank you for being kind to Indonesian people. God bless you 😊
I am kind always , but sometimes I am not given the same respect , but it’s okay , I just try be happy
@@SurvivalBeast i'm sorry about that. but most indonesians are good people 😊
Similar to what we call flounder in Florida. Very tasty, one of my favorites especially when you stuff them with crab meat and shrimp. And glad you didn't get your shoes stolen!🤣🤙
You really inspired a lot of people.
The catch and the videos were epic!
Bless and love Cavy Cavdog!
Nice
Did u gave him a fish and said ‘thankyou’😂 I can tell u are a good hearted person♥️
Flounder/soul fish are just so easy and so good one of my favs 10/10
Your catch karma just went up from sharing your fish like that, you gave him a lesson that some people go to the island's to experience life. Expert shot my man. Stay safe and full my friend! 🐠🐟
Note sole, but when I lived in New Zealand, I would go flounder spearing at night around the estuaries. Shine a light as close along the ground as possible and see their shadow as they sit on the bottom. Got to walk quiet with no splashing though. Beautiful tasting fish!!
Wow beautiful views and water so clear..i enjoying watching from western Australia
I thought you made content in your country, it turns out that you made this video in Indonesia.. I know because you gave fish to fishermen using Indonesian..
I really like your content.. Enjoy the beauty of nature in Indonesia 🥳 warm greetings from Jakarta
He is make this content around Komodo National Park, i hope you are coming here asap then we'll create camping content here brother 😁
I've had it when i lived in Netherlands only smaller, it tastes fantastic and easy to peel of the bone if you remove outer fins when cooked.
Hoe heet deze vis in het Nederlands?
Keep killing it bro! Great spear fishing 💯💯🐠🐡🍋🌶🧂🎣🏹
hi, im from indonesia.. im always watch your videos... its good
Florida has Flounder that is identical ! Good Job! Cavy!
Always enjoy the content mate, youre awesome
The flounder we catch in Florida are delicious! Was super excited when you hand speared this one but got a little nervous when you said you were giving a fish away to the local! Glad you ended up cooking this and liking it. I had a feeling you were going to say it was your favorite fish. They must be super rare over where you’re at
Yeah bro it’s the first once I’ve seen here in 2 years, may have been more before they started over fishing but not sure maybe just rare here. Was keen as to eat that fish haha the drummer I gave away on the other hand was a good gift fish.. Cheers dude
Florida flounders are plentiful! Slay em at the NSB jetty
I lived in Florida and have to agree by far the best fish ever
Same here in Louisiana only stuff it with crabmeat yum
We dont really eat that fish because it has lots of tiny bone, and the fishermen would normally leave them and catch other fish like mackerel that dont hv lots of tiny bone.
I know it as Flounder and i think its the best eating fish, i love it. Cheers from Australia
Saya dari Indonesia walaupun saya nggak ngerti bahasa Inggris tapi Chanel nya seru mantap pokok nya saya selalu nonton Chanel nya Salam dari indonesia
Yes, one of the best eating fish, it's supposed to have a skeleton of bones that are easy to remove , watching from Johannesburg SA , really feel like getting to Jeffrey's Bay on our coast after watching this
Great video! i really enjoyed it the spearing. You did well by offering a fish to that guy. I consider you lucky having this opportunity to visit this beautiful places. If you were in NYC, London or Berlin and in the middle of nowhere, you would likely be robbed.
Here in Florida we call them flounder and yes they taste amazing. Awesome video
Flounder is extremely tasty tho they are very difficult to catch especially due to their camouflage. Another cool fact about flounders is that unlike most fish they have both their eyes on one side of their body so they can lay flat in the sand and ambush prey.
The most thing i love on you bro is your voice ❤️
Thanks bro! Some ppl say they don’t understand me so I’m happy now bro
Bro i just love your videos so much ….I love tropical lands and especially fishing ….I want to travel to Australia 🇦🇺 one day and then in Indonesia 🇮🇩 ….I’m enjoying every second of your videos thanks mate 🧉
Thanks champ! Bro if that’s your dream then go for it and don’t look back brother, both good countries to travel even though a pretty big difference in culture, still always eye opening 🤙🏾
Beautiful fish bro and lovely reaction to the local dude attempting to steal the shoes, much respect! You got a peacock flounder (Bothus mancus). Never had it, but they are related to the European turbots (closer than to the European flounders), which are also beautiful eating and at least a 9.5 to me. Love the vids, keep it up 💪
Wow looks fantastic
Absolutely Amazing underwater filming, and it's just beautiful. Be careful not every fish is editable, some can be poisonous 🙂❣️
@badass synyster HAHAHAHA
It looks similar to a halibut. I’ll bet it taste almost the same, awesomely-tasty!! Luckily the guy you gave the fish to didn’t take all your stuff! To give him one of your fish after he tried to steal from you was incredibly honorable.
I’ve never had halibut but like you said it was really tasty! I always try help people when I can even if they don’t do the same it’s still a good way to live with feeling happy 😃
Looks like a flounder. Nice place. Awesome to catch your own fish like that.
It's so beautiful there, amazing.
Called a flounder in Trinidad and Tobago . Normally kept by fishermen for personal use. Best eating fish.
It's in Indonesia 😍
Awesome content!!!
The fish called "ikan sebelah" in Indonesian.
Thanks Mia for nama ikan 👍🏽
@@SurvivalBeast ikan pasir😅
Apa nama pulau ni. Want to go there. Hi from malaysia
Tempatnya dimana ini?
Great stuff bra, glad you didn’t lose any gear. I’m still laughing about the bow and arrow shark misses. I’m sure it’s so much harder than it looks. Easy for me to laugh sitting on my ass at home wishing I was there. Your videos are raw which makes them great. Even had time to rip a fart during the video lmao 🤣. Keep it up mate 🥥👍
Sole you say. Looked more like a small Halibut but if not guess it was still tasty. Got hungry watching, cheers.
Love tuning into your vids. If I may request, please show more footage of the gutting and cleaning of each fish! Cheers!
Yeah bro hopefully can show more , I used to but seems like everyone has stopped showing that stuff because it can be demonetized nowadays. Cheers yewwww
I can’t get over how big the fish are when you get out of the water it’s crazy cos they look so small on the camera, wow that round one was so different
That’s just how wide angle lenses look, if it ain’t close it looks really small
I'm from Indonesia, so happy to see this video and hear you speak Indonesian.
Maybe the fisherman thought the shoes had no owner. lol
regards
He take them from my tent, I think he knows someone owned them. If he really want shoe he can ask me, and I will give
I am Iranian, I really liked your video, good luck always ❤️❤️
Thanks Kratos!
great friends, the location is really good, good luck always greetings from Indonesian anglers
Mate that was brilliant. I use to eat sole/flounder with my grandfather and he swore it was his favourite fish to eat and he lived on an island most his life.
There is definitely many different kinds and the 'sole' fish looks like a footprint where the flounder is more round with pronounced fins etc but both taste good.👍
Wow! I can live on that paradise forever bro!
Everything I want are all there.
Peace, adventure and nature!
Real Survival Beast
Flounders or sole is the best eating fish out there bro! I totally agree with you 👍🏻
White flaky meat is soooo good!
Got lucky with this one, right time right place!
Too right mate! Thats why I was wondering how you speared the fish, normally it totally blends in with the sand. Lucky it was swimming👍
Another amazing video! Pure quality content right there! Keep it goin' mate 🔥
Thank you bro! Doing my best with what I have access to at the moment 😁
Beautiful videos enjoyable to watch
I love it 😀 you absolutely amazing 👏 ❤

Flounder?. Ariel and Sebastian are gonna be PISSED!
Great stuff 👌
I love your characteristics 👍👍👍👍👍👍❣️❣️❣️❣️, a lot of love 💝 from Malaysia 😊
Well it was about the best, and "Dover sole" is eaten on both sides of the Atlantic.
I have never heard of a tropical flounder or sole.
You learn something new every day. But in size that was more of a tropical halibut.
dude tries to steal your shoes and you give him a fish 😂, he must have feeld so awfull 😂
Hahaha yeah mate I think he felt a little bit guilty, but I wouldn’t really care if he did take as I’m sure he would need them more than I do 😁
That flounder looks pretty good! 👍
I love eating, we call them flounder in Mississippi. The skin is oily and delicious.
Mate those underwater shots are amazing.
Cheers Anthony! These island waters are amazing for sure
Looks like a flounder, sole or fluke, Cav. Some of the best eating there is. Lots of restaurants will have sole or flounder stuffed with crab meat here in the states. Beautiful video as always, glad you got your shoes back 😉...cheers, bro!
Hahaha sneaky old local, I would have given them to him if he asked for sure
@@SurvivalBeast nice Video 💕💕❤️
Fantastic mate what a life
So awesome
I ate them once, and i dip it with a dark soya, chili, onion and lime.
Bro epiiiic video the trench you swam through looked so peaceful ✌️.... how bad do you reckon that guy feels he was gonna steel your shoes than you give him a fish 🤣🤣 he would feel sooo bad.. also that tongue sole was massive 😳 👌 I love you new way of swimming back with the fish definitely better than having it hang off your man hood 😅 you should have kept the hermit crab and named it Eugene from sponge Bob 🤣 stay upright brother and fish hard yeeeeeeew 🤙🤙🤙 thanks for the escape from reality really needed it today💪💪
Bro he definitely would have felt a little guilty , I expect that’s why he didn’t turn back right away .. all good but , would definitely give him my shoes if I knew he wanted them 🤙🏾
Espectacular 👏🏼
i watched ur chanel everyday... and i learn how to survive. thank you so much
Laut indonesia keren
Lebih tepatnya di mana bro lokasinya?
I love how you handled that guy. You didn't let the fact that he tried to steal from you ruin your time. It's always good to stay positive! I am curious to know if you have ever come across someone violent?
Yeah sometimes I’ve come across people with violent nature but a confident smile goes a long way 😁
verdade,
Wait but when did he try to steal? I thought the guy in the boat was just on a day out fishing no?
@@SquarelMLG yeah, the survival guy even said that nothing had been touched. sounds more like the local guy was just curious in what he caught.
@@mrwater2033 6:06 he was trying to steal his shoes

I love the Alaskan flounder especially when it’s dried, I usually have it with seal oil.
He was going to rob you and you being a good person gave him a fish. That’s real man stuff right there guys 💯💪
Love going on these adventures with you from my home. Recently discovered your other channel and then found this one and subbed to both immediately. You are living the life brother. Wish you nothing but the best. Do you plan on ever coming to the states? I’d love to be able to meet you one day.

brother, most fish fresh over a camp fire is mind blowing. but yeah they are super delicate. Even fresh mullet over the fire is insane, its surprising how the fire when camping will bolw ur mind. love it

Thank you so much, enjoy the weekend
I'm Indonesian and i didn't know there's such a good place like that. Is that in bali?
My wife loves sole fish. Too many bones for my liking but if you are patient enough to eat slow and pick them out it's tasty as. 🤘
