I have ipad pro gen 1 9.7 and 12.9, both with apple pencil and matte screen cover, they are perfect for taking notes and regular media consumption, the speakers (especially on 12.9) are almost on a macbook level
@@Xanzkin bro do u even have this actual iPad pro? It still decently performs in games and surfing. Just dont expect it to play genshin at 60 fps smooth all the way through
@@sramvokermvp278 I did infact had the 9 inch for a brief time last year borrowing it from a family member for my classes. It was SLOW for every single task. I'm grateful for having it as it ultimately got the job done but I wouldn't recommend it to anybody Granted, the 12.9 inch does have 4gb of ram which makes it passable by today's standards; since the asking price is usually around $200 and the 10th gen is now down to $329 it's simply a bad investment price to performance wise even if you're the most casual of users. Unless of course, you're getting it for free or a price so low it might as well be
@@sramvokermvp278he is right. I own this iPad (9.7 version) and there are websites that it can't even load. for real. Im not bashing on it. I can still use it as an extra mini portable monitor for my Macbook Air M1 or to watch youtube videos
Bought this 2nd hand recently not realising it’s old. It has exceeded expectations I mainly wanted the big screen for zoom and Skype it is great for RUclips too plus sound is good
People calling it slow… I think it’s what you use it for. There was a lot of effort put into this. It was no ordinary iPad. Multitasking is perfectly fine for me, and books and videos are fine. Video quality is plenty good even by today’s standards. The bezel is kind of embarrassing but altogether it also shows users who knows their stuff. iOS support is starting to be an issue, so after its 10th year, it’s likely to be risky for semi-serious use. This model, and other pros of this time, are still excellent value for those on a very tight budget. (I use a 9.7) Verdict: don’t run out and buy it unless you have to, but if it’s working well enough, keep going.
Hi I am thinking to buy a 1st gen for RUclips only, is it still running smooth? May I know how long can you run the ipad roughly if you got it fully charged? Many thanks
You omitted one of the biggest concerns with any older model, ipad, surface, samsung etc: its battery! Even you don't use the device since 2015, or rarely use it its battery declines appreciably from its original date of production because of the ongoing, but very slow chemical reactions inside the battery. By the time you get a device about 10 years old you probably get 50-70% of its original capacity if you are lucky. So, if you had 8 hrs of battery duration you get about 3-4 hrs at best. Don't ask me how I know :-))
@@themeekgeek3518 you can get fresh replacement batteries for all apple products, thats very unique in the industry, ofc not from apple but there are apple repair shops in every city or online you can get them very easy. i have 6 ipads way older than this and all batteries still work fine i had them connected pretty much 24/7over a decade.
don't buy it, i had this ipad before upgrading to a mini 6, it can't support dual tasking without it lagging significantly or outright crashing due to its 2gb of ram
Unfortunately the 10.5 iPad Pro isn’t the first generation…it’s the second, which came out in 2017…the first iPad Pro was released in 2015 together with the iPhone 6S (Plus), was 12.9 inches big and got some kind of iteration early 2016 in a 9.7 inch version with worse RAM but better camera. The first generation iPad Pro is stuck on iPadOS 16…the second generation is the oldest Pro series supporting iPadOS 17 😉🤷🏻♂️
Yes. I just checked my iPad Pro 1st gen 12.9. Forscore is available on App Store. However this iPad is only running iOS 16.9 so it will shortly become obsolete
I had the same 9.7 inch iPad Pro as you which I had for about 7 years. I upgraded last year due to me running out of storage in which I had 32GB of storage and the device not supporting iPadOS 17. As of right now, I’m using the M1 iPad Air which is perfect for the next 7 years lol. 😂😂😂

i honestly don’t care about the camera or anything else i just wanna know if its good for studies and notes
It can't multitask properly because of low ram so definitely not, better off getting the iPad 9/10 if you want a budget option

The iPad Pro 12.9 from 2015 is still a capable tablet for drawing. Its 4gb of RAM compensates it.
2Gb is plenty you wont see any difference to 4GB , you really nered some very special use case you might see a microstutter if at all
