    I used to ride the 101 trolley back & forth to junior high school. The only times, that I rode it all the way to Media, was when I got called to jury duty, as an adult, and had to go to the courthouse in Media.

      The first one is for if you're on the inbound track and you are to switch over to the outbound side, the second is for if you're on the outbound track and need to switch over to the single track segment. Note the signal placement for each.

      You're correct. SEPTA has said that they would replace the trolleys by LRVs, with additional planning to reduce frequency of stations. There were also plans for ticket machines like the River Line. However, it's unlikely that the money is there to replace the fleet right now. The scheduled date is 2024 for these changes.

    • @NorthEastCoastRailfan
      @NorthEastCoastRailfan  5 лет назад +1

      The PCC II trolleys will only last so long in their current state. As much as I would hate to see them go, preserving an entire fleet of historic trolleys isn't very cost effective. I could see light rail cars on the 101/102/15 and not looking out of place, but not so much on the 10/11/13/34/36. They definitely should preserve one of them though.

      The SEPTA base fare (cash) is 2.50. This allows you to ride all modes of transit except for Regional Rail, where your fare is determined by the distance. You can buy a SEPTA Key (4.95) and pay 2.00 a ride with discounted transfers at 1.00. If you are going for just a day, you can get an Independence Day pass for 13.00 and ride all modes of transportation, including Regional Rail free of extra charge.

I guess people were outraged about the fare keep going up each year and were losing riders. That's just my assumption but it is $2.50 currently.
