The title "Man" was used well in Beast's story to refer to the state of humanity and how he feels he needs to improve as a man. However, it was utilized much more subtly and poignantly in the Professor's struggle to come to terms with no longer being one of the X-Men. Now he's just a man.
I bought and read this book at the time. So good I recall nothing about it other than the cover
Glad you enjoyed revisiting it all these years later!
