    I have a 2016 Rav4, it's awesome! It's comfortable, roomy and luxurious, nothing to complain about and I would expect it to run reliably for the next 15-20 years like the corolla that I owned before until I got tired of it and sold it.

  • @PecosHank

    No mention of Toyota reliability? Perhaps rate cars after 250K miles and see which one is still running w/o a hitch.

      It's a treat to come across a Pecos Hank comment on a random video. It's like finding gold! But to stay on topic, totally agree that reliability should at least play some part in the review since that's what really holds this car above the American brands.

      Charlie Ennis you’re absolutely right. The reason we things like a 700hp Jeep Grand Cherokee or a near 800hp challenger is because someone that stupid or famous wants one. Only to realize that once they actually use it in traffic and us roads, they have no space to use the power and then drive like a jerk scaring other drivers

    If this helps a used car shopper...
    We have 2 of these, purchased new in Aug 2016 (mega great deal from desperate dealer). SE just hit 30k miles, XLE 25k. Zero problems. Noisy with the windows down in the back is the only complaint. Great car for family with 2 kids. Easy to handle. Does great in the snow...3 winters in NH never got stuck unlike all the Subarus you see up there. Plenty of power, you can do a 50 to 75mph pass quickly and easily. Fuel ecomony...winter driving with some city some highway SE gets 21 to 23...XLE about 23 to 25. Took a long road trip and if you keep at steady 65 or 70 I got 33 mpg multiple tanks of gas with SE with AC on...go 80 mpg you get 26 mpg. Comfortable to drive in. Honestly better to drive than my parents' Acura which was incredibly expensive. If you need to "enjoy" driving a car video is correct, compact SUV/crossover is the wrong vehicle class. These were purchased so we could get cars that last long after we stop paying hefty daycare bills. I do a lot of highway driving and if you keep up on maintenance there is no reason why you can't get 180-200k miles. BTW had an Accord once and was disappointed in quality...not only do you pay more on sticker for Honda than Toyota the quality is worse...we've had several Toyotas that we would have kept longer had my wife not wrecked them all. Compared to others I tested...felt less stiff driving than CRV and better room in driver's seat (I am 6-3)...better cargo space than Rogue and more front seat room. Hope this review helps someone, good luck!

    • @kpk33x
      @kpk33x 5 лет назад

      @@dashingmay SE was another 5k. It came with a better Nav system, leather, heated seats, etc. It rides slightly smoother/quieter than XLE. For your timeframe the RAV was redone in 2015 so you have the new style with things like USB port that they didnt have before.

    I just bought a 2016 LE with 27,000 miles on it 7 weeks ago for, get this: $16k before tax and tags. The car is flawless and had just come off a low-mileage 3 year lease. I've driven it extensively around Phoenix, where I live, and have been on one road trip to LA to visit my daughter. I know no one would believe this but I've been getting around 33 mpg around town driving in Eco mode. And no, this is not a hybrid. This is my 5th Toyota vehicle and I will drive them until I take my long dirt nap.

    I have the 2016 rav4 xle with TSS package, the pwr lift gate w/ adj. moon roof and more. coming from a V6 the first few days sucked in the small engine, but that's just me. It does feel sort of underpowered for its size fore sure. road noise is minimal not distracting, but noticeable if you're driving with no radio or in total silence. interior is actually nice for a Toyota, everything is in arms reach, its easy to change the climate, or song while driving. also the TSS (Toyota safety sense) is a huge live saver. the break alerts saved me from rearing ending me from a car that cut me off from the opposite end of the highway trying to make a last min exit.

    After 10 years with the Prius, I'm glad that I didn't purchase a GEN4 Prius 2016. I'm very happy with the RAV4 Hybrid XLE model! Road and tire noise are much less! In Minnesota, I need 7 inches of ground clearance. I'm getting over 35MPG! Also, I was tired of looking at total digital information on the dashboard. This is a welcome change! Lastly, I hate the fake chrome on the dashboard of the Avalon and Camry Hybrid models. For me, the RAV4 2106 Hybrid XLE was a no brainer! This model even has electronic AWD-i/e! I'm very happy with my decision!

    Maybe it's just where I live, but the Hyrbids were on average, 3,000.00 more than the conventional engine model. On top of that, they seats don't go completely flat which can cause the loading situation in the back to be a bit harder to work with. I go camping quite a bit, and need all the space the back will give me!

    There is no SE for 2017. And the disappointing part is that to get some basic functionalities like push button start and power driver seat, you have to go for 'limited' version which starts at $30K. These features are not available in LE or XLE. This thing keeps me from buying otherwise this nice vehicle.

      ***** Yup, I just saw. It's perfect. On top of that, it comes with both Android Auto and Carplay. Toyota is going to suffer now since they signed the deal with Ford's system instead of going with market progress.

    My Rav 4 is very difficult to be able do the navigation system. Being a LTD edition, and extra cost it is over rated! Could be the instructions from the sales person.
