Thanks, John, for shining a light on this super collab! Getting two unexpected artists together is usually a recipe for interesting, but this one is especially nice. Here's my take on it: What makes both of these artists stand out is they are fearless. Ed spent years honing his craft on the streets. He knows how to use his voice, his phrasing, his words, his pauses--he really makes every audience member feel like he's singing to them. Because . . . he is! And, he's not afraid to go out with NOTHING but his guitar and voice and CREATE on the spot. This is what live performance is, something that has gotten lost over the years. Andrea Boccelli is, of course, an amazing artist, too. Although his voice is more operatic and pop, he knows, too, how to make listeners feel as though he's singing just to them. It's truly a gift, but he's also worked very hard to perfect it. (btw, that's his son who shows up in the video. If you haven't listened to him, you should. He's no slough in the voice department!) The melding of the two voices--and Ed's decision to do the chorus in Italian!--is a credit to how BOTH of them perform _as part of a unit_. No surprise the title of this piece: Perfect Symphony. Only way it works is when everyone's working together. And doing their very best performance!
This song was sung at Andrea Bocelli's house after Ed had called Andrea and told him that he wanted to sing this song with him, Andrea's sons are what you have to do, Dad, the sons are big fans of Ed, so it was arranged in Italy in the house where Andrea lives and works. Because Andrea lost his sight at a young age due to an eye disease, he translated the song in breipatroon so that he could read the text with his fingers.
The Italian language IS the language of the opera. Cabaliere Signore Andrea Bochelli is at this time the greatest still living tenor there is. Ed Sheeran was in awe, that this man and his whole family invited him home and cooperated with him. Sincerely and very respectfully Elmar from Germany
I love this song, I used it to get better with my Italian. Italian is so melodic and why so many operas are written in Italian. If you do not know the language I can see why you might think it is harsh, but actually it is not nearly as beautiful and smooth as Italian.
❤ this was beautifull ❤ Please react to Andrea Bocelli's Duet with Helene Fischer- The Prayer. In my opinion the best version of this song ever.😊 ruclips.net/video/mI0x97D8N8g/видео.htmlsi=-xAUf3hx44Ob9Klz7i
I adore this version of Perfect. It makes me unreasonably emotional, because of how beautiful it is
Patent that!! Unreasonably emotional! Ahahahhaha! Totally using that in my vocab!
Love to see people listen to Andrea Bocelli, one of the great voices of our time, spine-tingling.
ED is the Goat
Wow. Just Wow. No other words.
Lovely to see how Andrea includes his wife and both sons in this production 💜
I saw this video years ago and it was what introduced me to both Ed and Andrea....much love for both and goosebumps still.
Great intro to one of the greatest tenors on earth, Andrea Bocelli is amazing, I hope you listen to more of his works.

E Viva Andrea Boccelli, e viva o rei da música latina
reagi ele cantando bossa Nova com a cantora brasileira Sandy
Beautiful! There’s also a version with Beyoncé. That’s very nice.
Can you react to Eve's Sayonara End Roll MV?
