- Interior designer Vanessa DeLeon invites Open House viewers along for a tour of her latest project: a Parisian-inspired apartment on 5th Avenue. This New York City apartment is a complete gut renovation and one of the first things that DeLeon did was to completely open the space to fill it with more natural light and flow. From the new foyer with its textured gold-leafed wallpaper making a design statement as soon as you walk through the door to the show-stopping kitchen with its black-and-gold range, gold double-sided hood, waterfall edge countertops, and fixtures reminiscent of a Parisian bistro, this home is full of charm, style, and unexpected touches.
Additional points of interest: the dining room that was formerly an office and features a structural column that helps delineate the area, glass & lucite table, gold-accented chairs and chandelier and an extended banquette that increases the opportunity for entertaining guests; a living room that's packed with texture, color and design drama - as is evident through the plush emerald sofa, decorative pillows, lacquered rock-shaped tables, eclectic seating options, faux-hide side tables; and a custom-made rug adorned with streaks of ivory, gold, and gray; a splash-splattered hallway with a sputnik light fixture that leads into a bright, airy guest bedroom that is all sorts of playful with its ceiling featuring swirls of rose & gold and butterflies in the light decor and wallpaper; and a primary bedroom that is elegant yet still full of surprises with its dramatic blue accent wall, crystal chandelier; Roman shades with crystal tassels; and a fuchsia chaise lounge chair in the corner that adds a dash of romance and whimsy.

Disagree! The kitchen, living, and dining are plenty masculine and unisex. Guys can live with style, too, ya know. The bedrooms only were clearly were meant for a woman.
