@bdegrds 41, but many hard years of lifting tons of weight, training, eating, PEDs, injuries, illness, excess body mass, etc. The man has probably taken years off his life, but that's what it takes to be a 4xWSM winner, ASC winner, 15xWSM Finalist, etc. A 41yo 200kg Strongman is closer to death than a 61yo 70kg cyclist, etc.

If you watch Tom's run from the front he seams to slip aswell not sure if it was the 4th or 5th but maybe the weather earlier in the day played a part in both men slipping.
Sucks to see that failure when he was looking so strong. I don’t think he actually had a shot winning, but he was going to be in contention the rest of the way if he got that one up because that would’ve been a win. I think he gets between 3-5 on dumbbell, 4-6 on truck, and 2-5 on stones. Even with a win on fingers, he wouldn’t have number 5 barring an injury or major mistake by one of the other top guys, but he would have a great shot at the podium. Honestly, he cost himself by doing so poor on the shield. As one of the few who can clasp hands around it, he probably had the worst performance. He needed more grit there considering he wasn’t even close to any of the top guys. Hell, Hooper had the shield slip after the first lap and crab walked it further than Brian made it on his whole run.

I think for the most part was the he went to far down the pole without lifting it up.
I wonder if has something to do with that leg infection because all events he did not so well has to do with leg strength. Just my opinion.

nah he did good in deadlift his leg isnt the problem ,, he is just old and maybe he got exausted from the deadlift and the shield carry ivent
