If you are still not getting it.. Just read: If there is a substitute better ECU and you are replacing the older one with it. You are upgrading the ecu. ECU is hardware. If you are just installing the latest software program, you are updating the ecu. But that is also the wrong lingo. You actually update not the ecu but the ecu software. YOU UPDATE A SOFTWARE AND YOU UPGRADE A HARDWARE. GET IT? People and programmers and technitions are all confused by their own lingo usage.

the problem now my car is engine switched off then again start running time up to 3rd geer car is running smoothly, then cannot change the geer (it is automatic geer, not manual car )... then if i stop the car, put the P mode for gear liver, that time also little jumping the car like a kdak sound little,.. then if i disconnect the battery connection again connect the battery connection car is running properly smoothly... then i switch off the engine, again coming same happend.... this is the problems,what is the happend, electrician told me, need to change the ECU,.. BUT MY QUESTION IF SOMEBODY DOING PROGRAMING OR LATEST VERSION SOFTWARE IT IS OK ?? OR NEED TO REPLACE THE ECU ? My car is 2011-2012 model Hyundai accent
