- TRIM Options Explained in Adobe Premiere Pro
This tutorial shows you the various trimming tools and how they work along with the Trim Preferences. One of the Preferences is fairly new so there is something for veteran editors to learn too.
Ripple Trimming via the Q & W keys is not shown in detail. For that, please watch this tutorial:

THANKS!
😃 To all the wonderful people who have supported VideoRevealed 😃
After a solid year of referencing Colin’s training videos, I now find myself reviewing older videos to refresh my brain cells.. Video Revealed is GREAT for learning Adobe Premier Pro … I applaud Colin Smith for his wonderful work.
We get to know new tips from each of your videos. Keep up with this amazing work!
Glad you like them!
I love your channel...you explain things so easy....keep up the good work!
I sure will.
Thanks Colin. The pointers on action matching was good for me.
Great to hear!
Tips on shortcuts & custom shortcuts would be great. Everyone will have their own preferences for sure, but it's helpful to get started somewhere. Thanks for the content!
I do have this tutorial: ruclips.net/video/w5x7lw-j2c8/видео.html
Oh my gosh. worth the price of admision.
Awesome!
I have done a bug like that in the past, but I add it as an Effect in the Export dialog box. Thanks for showing the trim preferences!
My pleasure Kevin.
You are simply amazing!!
Thanks so much.
Thank you for helping me understand why my trimming was occasionally affecting other unrelated clips! That was driving me insane. I couldn’t figure out why I had to lock tracks to stop it from happening. Very different in an Avid workflow
Glad it helped!
very interesting. When Composite preview during triming is On - I can see both tail of the left clip and the tail of right clip. But when I turn off Composite preview during triming - my program monitor shows only the tail of the clip which I trim, very interesting
An important addition to trimming clips .
You bet. 😀
great as always
Thanks.
Thank you Colin!!!
My pleasure buddy!
Great lesson again.
My pleasure.
Steve Burton Thanks so much for your clear explanations. I have been trying to perform a ripple trim edit by selecting an upper and lower clip at once, but I can't select both edit points together, whether or not composite preview is selected. I wondered whether anybody else had the same problem and what could be the answer
Select the Ripple Edit tool
Hold Shift
Click on as many edit points as you want
@@VideoRevealed Thanks for your kindness and support. But I'm getting some curious results. I'm using the 2020 version of premiere. When I hold down the shift key the editing cursor turns yellow on the end of the upper clip, but doesn't let me select the lower clip. So although the upper clip shows up in the window as both ckips, the lower clip doesn't . And I thought the idea of having the preference of composite preview checked discarded having to use a modifier key
Thanks for sharing! ☺️
Thanks for watching.
Great stuff.
Thank you.
Great Job, we can done the video edition in less time!! Tks
Yes we can
Thank you!
You're welcome!
Was this a repeat? Perhaps with updates as it seems I've seen it before? Otherwise, a great tutorial nonetheless.
Um...I actually messed up and accidentally posted this last month. It's the same one now launched on the correct date. Doh! 😜
Ya'll are pretty cool
thanks
No problem Rev.
thnks
You bet.
PP has it's niceties but Avid media composer is simply the best when it comes to trimming
Ok. I prefer the ease of use and non-modal workflow in Premiere Pro.
You are so cute😍
Ah shucks. 😊
