    We need these now! Can't wait to be able to buy one or more and get started at Lake Atitlan, Guatemala, Central America. Thank goodness of innovation like this: we need more people like these young men using technology to "save the world" and clean up the messes we have made!

    Hi,
    We are Phoebe & Cherry, both 10th graders currently studying at a high school in Bali, Indonesia. We have an inquiry regarding copyright of Seabin.
    Austrade has conducted a competition called "Science Your Future" which is a competition targeting secondary/high school students to research Australian innovations and, in short, do a video on an Australian STEM(Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) innovation of our choice and how it can address environmental/urban/health issues in Indonesia. We, together as partners, have chosen the Seabin Project. Because of our love for our country's oceans, the Seabin Project appealed to us. The idea and concept behind it is absolutely amazing and we'd love to include it in our submission video for the SYFC 2018. We think it can definitely address environmental issues Indonesia's oceans are currently struggling with.
    The competition promoters are strict on copyright infringement. They clearly state that candidates should clarify with the party that owns the content we are going to include like songs, videos, photos and more and also credit them.
    Our guide teacher, Ms. Sarah, adviced us that it'd be nice to send an email to Seabin Project to clarify some copyright aspects. We are not a professional or an expert on this matter, hence why we are leaving a comment here, and also sent Seabin an email. I was hoping Seabin could clarify to us if we are allowed to include a short part of some clips of the Seabin, just to demonstrate what it looks like and how it works.
    Our goal as a part of the future generation is to embrace innovations like the Seabin Project and make the public more aware of certain unknown vital issues and its solutions. It is projects and innovations like the Seabin that gives me a glimpse of hope in a beautiful green and clean future.
    Please let us know as soon as possible. Don't hesitate to ask any questions if you have any. Thank you so much for your co-operation and understanding.
    Regards,
    Phoebe & Cherry

  • @12headlock

    I love this what a great idea, now how about a solar/wave power seaskip, big solar powered roof with beacon for ships, sat nav controlled so automatically returns the the harbour when it's full, then properly incinerate the plastic through a filter system... Build a seaskip guys

    Why the bin didn’t fill up? How it works

    • @romeoneverdies
      @romeoneverdies 7 лет назад

      its a basically a filter for small particulate but big enough for plancton and water to pass trough i think it also gets oils but you would have to ask them . a lot of debries floats on top of the water instead of sinking to the bottom this causes alot of problems because a lot of fish actually eat planctons and thus also plastic particles.

    • @CatherineSTodd
      @CatherineSTodd 6 лет назад

      Yes, it also picks up surface oil. The bin fills up with as much trash as it collects before someone comes to empty it. It's more efficient not to let it fill all the way up, as the water needs to filter through the trash and the mesh bag. I'm sure if you let it run for a longer time, the bag would fill up but it would not be as efficient.
