As a moto- or moped-style e-bike, the Electric Bike Company Model J is a departure from the brand's typical beach cruiser offerings. Despite its different look, it maintains the brand's hallmarks - namely comfort and a relaxed, easygoing ride feel.
Another characteristic feature of EBC is the Model J’s incredible customizability. Users can personalize nearly every aspect of the bike, from color schemes to components, so no two e-bikes will look the same.
In terms of performance, the Model J’s nimble handling was one of its defining features. Unlike many other stiff moped-style e-bikes, its larger wheels and standard fork made it more agile and responsive - handling more like a “regular” bike.
We think the Model J’s controlled feel makes it perfect for teens, young adults, and older riders alike.

Sorry, I know this isn't related to your question. But will you guys ever make a video on the best most affordable Ebike as of 2024?

I stuck with keeping it simple with the color white. When I purchased my Model J, I was more focused on comfort, utility, safety, and ensuring the bike was street-legal, as it was to be my main transportation for commutes. I'm visually impaired, so my bike is one of three primary transportation mediums, the other two being public transit and Lyft. Of the three, though, my ebike is easily my favorite.

There are so many "ebike" companies out there that sell bikes that, at least here in the US, are not legally ebikes, and these "bikes" are thus not street legal. I didn't want to risk getting into that potential legal mess. Plus, since I planned to get bicycle insurance, I had to ensure I kept things legal.

Electric bike company reminds me of a more approachable, cheaper, spark cycle works.

does the front wheel have a quick disconnect? do you think you can put it in a trunk with the back seats folded down? I would love to see more review videos try this! Also would like to see how much room there is to move the handlebars up and down. Cheers!

Wonder what kind of import fees they will be passing on to customers? Hopefully not the 25% of the average Chinese bike..

Good question, especially considering that the bikes are assembled in the US. I'm not sure if components are subject to the same tariffs as fully assembled bikes.

I have the Model J myself that I purchased back in mid-March. I have a three-battery setup (unlocked to class 3), and the Model J MIK rack with the Basil MIK trunk bag on it. I've gotten an average of 90+ miles or so with the three batteries on petal assist 3 (which is where I keep it a majority of the time). I love this thing. I've even gotten in two crashes. The first was very minor, but the second was quite severe . . . I literally got hurled off the bike. The bike got a few scratches on the bike itself, quite a few loose nuts and bolts (uncertain if this was already present), and one or two bent-but-easily-repaired-by-the-bike-shop parts, and I actually incurred more damage than the bike did. Therefore, I can attest to its durability as well. I've rode this thing on main streets, dirt roads, and mixed bike trails (obviously at Class 2 speed in accordance with the law), and I am very happy with it. I did pay a moderate amount of money when investing in it, but at slightly over $2800, it was money well spent.

These bike’s always advertise that 2 people can ride it.
You guys should include a 2 person test.
