2011 was a great year! The 2010’s as a whole were a good decade to grow and enjoy our youth in. Sure, there were problems, every decade has its struggles and hard times, but I would argue that this decade was more peaceful than the one before it and the one after it. Here I am in 2023 wishing that 2011-2018 lasted forever. I want to live in those moments of time if you get what I mean. Things right now (and since 2014/2015 really!) are so very much more convoluted and complicated than the prior decade. And I do not think it’s just because we were younger and more ignorant then. The connected world moves faster, and with this it seems that time itself moves/progresses faster than ever before. I’m still relatively young but I feel much older than my age sometimes. Many things, as an adult right now, seem to be (or actually are) more difficult than they were before. Social media was supposed to connect us all in a positive way but let me tell ya’ll it has overwhelmingly done the exact opposite of what it spouted. We’ve never been more connected to one another through these internet apps and online social in-groups (political and otherwise), and yet further apart at the same time. I often feel like our society in general had started to crack in 2018 and now continuously crumbles day by day along with our culture (welcomeness, ethics, caring for others, providing help to those in need, our charitable nature in general, and work towards peace/love/acceptance, etc.). In summary and conclusion, this world started to fall apart the day that Mac Miller died. RIP Mac. 🙏❤️🙏 The world is definitely not fine without you. Wish you could come back to Earth and help us fix what’s going wrong.
