- Rick Parfitt received a rockstar's farewell today as all three of his wives attended the Status Quo guitarist's funeral. The blonde trio of Marietta Boeker, Patty Beedon, 65, and Lyndsay Parfitt, 58, arrived along with around 80 of his friends and bandmates for the service in his hometown of Woking, Surrey. Parfitt died in Marbella, Spain, on Christmas Eve aged 68 after suffering complications from a shoulder injury, although he had been dogged by ill health for a number of years.

Feel so blessed to have been in this world at the same time as these wonderfully talented people. To witness and admire their achievements from young men and women to adults. They have brought much joy to all of us through their music. RIP Rick and thank you.

j'ai 67 ans ma jeunesse etait status quo pendant des annees et je contunue a jouer du status comme batteur et j'usqu'a mon dernier souffle sa sera status quo je les et vue 7 fois dans les concert une merveille en 76 avant de partir a l'armee qu'elle souvenir a clermont ferrand et des photos a l'epoque en premiere partit c'estait le groupe bijoux qui passer et status apres

Why can't you smile at a funeral. Many people, including my family, believe funerals should be happy occasions, where you celebrate the life of the person and the lives of those that are still living. You should remember the person in a happy way, instead of thinking of the fact that they are dead

I don't like the fact that it was treated like another gig for the now Francis Rossi's Status Quo by turning up on the tour bus and everyone wearing backstage passes.
I thought the bands management would have had a big more respect.

I see what you mean but I don’t imagine any off nice was intended. It’s hard to know how to best handle these sort of situations (especially when they’re famous names involved) and they looked quite uncomfortable with the whole thing, hence the nervous grins. At last they were there for their old mate.
Why do you think it was done out of disrespect? On the contrary, the whole thing was a respectful, tongue in cheek nod to the mans life!
Perhaps those "backstage passes" were to show who's on the list of invitees and who is just a paparazzi wanna-be. Surprisingly there was quite a lack of audience. Either he wasn't such a big star after all - or the time and the place of the funeral were well kept secret (which is not likely as the SQ bus was present. It is a advertisment in itself.)

Margaret Simmons that is called shock just because they did not cry on cameradoes not mean they did not care he and Rossi were best buds but after the heart attack Rick was so sick they hated to see him like that and Francis said in some ways that he had already grieved for his friend when that happenedbecause he came so close to dying then and now he was at peace as hard as it was to lose hisfriend he is in no more pain thats how we look at it when we lose someone and we struggle to deal with George Michael died the next day and I still have not accepted that I do not thinkthey have fully accepted rick being gone either

Mark Harrison nah, Rick was one of the best rhythm guitarists in the world so he just enjoyed himself, maybe to much at times but it was what it was, in one of his last interviews he said himself that he lived the rocknroll lifestyle and when you live it some day you must pay the price for doing it, and he was now paying the price, bless him I think at that point he knew that he had taken things to far in life and it just destroyed his health, but then again we all do it in our own way, and we just don't think it's going to happen to us, but hey, it does,! R I P, Rick parfitt.
He was still smoking and drinking heavily after having three heart attacks.
@@markharrison2544 I agree, the worst thing you can do after having heart attacks is ignore the doctors warnings and advice to quit smoking. You can enjoy life without nicotine.
