Coming up to 8 years since he died, and I still can't really believe it. Rick was always my favourite in Quo... An absolute machine of a rhythm guitarist. The "engine room" of Quo, as he put it.

I had the privilege of meeting Ricky twice and yes he really was a lovely man. No airs or graces or "rock 'n roll" snobbery, just a down to earth legend of a guy. RIP Rick - its not the same anymore!

i remember him turning up at chichester railway train station in 1987 sending his son off to boarding school in a roll royce in full leather gear and calming his son down , telling him not to worry etc , he gave me the impression that he was a lovely chap that cared for the people close in his life :)

This was a nice interview about Rick, yes he'd over done it and was a fool to himself but was extremely lucky to still be alive. Its just a pity that after a fall which i believe he'd hurt his shoulder that he didn't get sorted quicker as once sepsis had set in because of his age and past illnesses his body couldn't fight the infection hard enough and sadly he died. Really Staus Quo also died that day, i know Francis and Andy Bown are still there but it then just became the Francis Rossi Band which to me would have been more respectful if Francis had changed the name after all people still would have gone to the concerts - maybe have called it Quo2

After Rick passed, the choices made by Rossi & "Quo" angered me so much that I took the decision to never see what they're insisting on passing off as Quo, again.
To this day, I know not of any on stage tribute made to our Rick.
    Unforgivable.
    Hero.

I saw him pull up in his Rolls Royce, jump out and head into a paper shop at Purley Cross in about 1987 or 88. I didn't want to bother him though, despite being a huge fan. A few months later the same Roller stopped to let me cross the road outside my house, but I wasn't sure who was driving it at the time.

I shall never, ever forget one of the happiest days of my life - the 1985 Live Aid concert. I was home on field leave whilst working in Indonesia and then this great concert opening with Status Quo - Rockin' All Over the World. And of course Rick . . . great memories . . . I know you will still be at peace in Heaven, Rick!🙏🙏🙏!!
