The gummy green is probably the binder and pigment separation, it's normal and actually happens pretty often - stirring the paint in the tube with a needle or toothpick should fix the problem, sometimes you can also massage the tube, it just depends on how separated it is😊
Yeah, it’s the whole tube unfortunately. I have since mixed it up and squished it around and poured a new pan, but I think I just picked up a dud. It’s okay though, the colour is still super pretty
@@SophieMcPike I've never had a tube of terre vert that didn't do that. I think it's just a feature of the pigment.

one of my profs at art school cracked a few of my chalk pastels in half when helping me and I had to do everything in my being to not lose it. It was a new set too

I LOVE the kits you are giving to those attending your art trip to Ireland! Also loved seeing all the art test supplies, giving me so many ideas of things I want to get 😂 I've never used Neocolors but I love the Caran dAche brand so I may want to check those out.

It’s so exciting about the trip I’m sure it will be loads of fun but I know that if I was going somewhere I’d most likely save a bunch of extra money to take with me and then hit up whatever art shop I could find to buy art supplies from that country that I wouldn’t be able to get where I live.

that seems like so much stuff to me!!. I always get anxious at airport security, hope drawing on the plane doesn't make you feel motion sick
haha it is quite a lot for a month away but I feel like my carry on art supplies are quite minimal (for me!) we'll see!!!

Hi Sophie, I love the little notebook you put together to help others find somewhere to start when sketching . I see it’s only for your travel group . Unfortunately I live in US if not I would have definitely tagged along . However I’m so interested in that advice in the booklet . Any way you can have it in pdf for purchase like an ebook style ? ❤
I’m actually putting together a bigger book full of tips and tricks and stuff! I’ve started putting it together but I plan on working on it fully when I get back from my trip :)

I wonder if there is a pencil extender that would fit those Neocolors? Splitting them definitely makes sense for traveling. Have an amazing time.
That’s a really good idea!
there is an extender made just for them, but it ranges from $20-$20 USD, so it's pretty spendy!

The gummy green, is it „green earth“? I have the same issue with earth colors, like green earth and others. Also when there are in a pan, it‘s difficult to activate them. I also make watercolor paints myself and I made green earth and like sienna and they have the same issue. I think it’s just the way the pigments are. I have experienced this with a lot of earth colors (home made and bought)

I do!! Either on procreate or photoshop. Some of my older animations are done in TV Paint 🌞

We do have Target! It feels like they’ve gotten fancier in the past few years. I rarely shop there but they’re quite fun to look around from time to time!
What is the name the icy blue holbein gouache color at top right? 😍 Also, I may have to add some Winsor and Newton Opera to my collection. 😂 Enjoy your travels!!
It's lovely isn't it? Myosotis Blue G861 in the Holbein gouache traditional colours of japan range :)
How do you get the gouache not to crack out of the palette?
It does crack a bit once it’s fully dry. But that’s okay! It still reactivates and works 💪🏻
Do you have plain air kits for non travelers in your shop?
