Very, VERY accurate! The old Reeves Superman theme and Jor-El themes used to be some of my favorites. But the Man of Steel theme is freaking amazing. And I'm always gonna love Star Wars themes. Period.
Ironically the reason they go so well together is that the Christopher Reeve SUPERMAN movies and the theme for STARWARS were both written by the same man in the 70’ and 80’s. Both of the new music themes are based off of those two originals.

The Man of Steel soundtrack is some of the best superhero music I've ever heard. This is absolutely amazing. I forgot how it makes one feel like they are Superman, flying high, being a beacon of hope. Absolutely beautiful. It also brings back some memories. Around the time that Man of Steel was out, my younger brother lost his best friend to suicide. It tore everybody apart. I gathered up the favorite pictures of the lost friend that his classmates and closest friends cherished and put them to the "What are you going to do when you're done saving the world?" song. It brings back memories of the good times, all the fun that was had, and how far my brother and his friends have come in the intervening years. Hearing this, it's heroic and meaningful. Adding in callbacks to the classic theme, and Star Wars, my childhood obsession with Luke Skywalker as my hero, it's so beautiful. Thank you.
I'm envisioning Superman brandishing a lightsaber...this piece is well done! Star Wars\Superman, Imperial March/Batman(Elfman), it took skill to blend in the different compositions so that the compositions were not an obvious mash of two separate scores.
Brilliant mashup. It feels like Zimmer took inspiration from Williams with the similar note changes in the tune. Didn't realize before much of their connecting similarities. Very cool.
First off, there are some phenomenal mashups here with multiple themes from both SW and Superman. Second, if you aren't brought to tears at 1:48 with the "Planet Krypton" theme, you aren't human. Absolutely beautiful.
Much as I love Zimmer's work, William's theme will forever be Superman's true theme to me. But the way you mixed the two early in the song - absolute perfection.
I remember this from your Star Wars, DC, Marvel mash up and this was literally my favorite part. I’d listen to the entire thing just to hear this bit. The force theme with super man guitar riff underneath is literally just too perfect. Awesome job!
You have combined the music themes of my two most beloved movies into one. I watched Superman II with Christopher Reeve on July 14, 1990. It was Saturday and the movie was shown on TV at 8:10 PM. Star Wars Empire Strikes Back I watched on November 30, 1991 and it was also Saturday, 3:20 pm. At 5.15 pm on the same day I watched Return of the Jedi. Thanks for bringing back the most beautiful memories.
Just want to let you know Samuel Kim: Your music gives me goosebumps. You are an amazing music organizer, and I love your work. Please don't stop what you do.
My great grandfather recently passed. His funeral is tomorrow in which I’m speaking at and am a pall bearer (not sure how to spell it.) He was often times the man who inspired me in many ways to become the man I am today. How I cherish family, work hard, and much of my respect towards the military and desire to become a soldier came from despite my not being able to serve. He was a Korean veteran who never saw battle due to the wars end thank god. He is in many ways my Superman. And classical music has always been a way to calm myself. Having Tourette’s and all and other anxiety issues. But this almost made me cry all over again as I try not to cry writing this. My point is Sam you’re music is helping me through a difficult time. Do you man as you help others like me and many more with your beautiful work. In more ways than one.
That really doesn't make sense because you would be dead and I'm quite sure they would play the same song at all funerals. Unless it is physically possible to come back as a zombie or ghost, which would be awesome, you couldn't leave or physically have them play that song just for you. I do agree though that his music is quite possibly the best ever for now.
This was really good and moved me to tears, but you *really* need to work on smoothing out your transitions. Not jumping abruptly from one sequence to another completely different one unexpectedly. That jump around 3:11 really came out of nowhere and messed up the flow.
I have this mashup Superman theme from time to time from each and every version and media in my head. From Fleischer's animated, the 80's animated era Superman, the live action Superboy series from the 80's, the DCAU Superman Animated Series, Lois and Clark, John Williams' Superman theme, Smallville's ending theme, and Hans Zimmer's Man of Steel. This mashup somehow gave me a glimpse of how epic a Superman theme mashup could be. Thank you for sharing this.
